My Favorite Home Projects of 2019

I don’t know how it’s possible, but 2019 is almost over and a new decade is just days away. So crazy, right?! This past year flew by and to be honest, it was quite the whirlwind. There were lots of amazing moments, like that time I got my own signature candle with Antique Candle Co or when I ran my first 10k. And of course lots of difficult moments too. This year God tested me in unexpected ways and it was definitely a year of personal growth for me. But I’m grateful for it all and excited to be headed into a brand new year!! Anyway, today I thought it would be fun to share my top five favorite home projects of 2019. This year we did a couple of bigger things, like our window seat makeover and the new kitchen tile, but there were also a few fun little projects in the mix too.

The Window Seat Makeover

Our window seat makeover was definitely one of my favorite projects of 2019. I was practically giddy when we did this! It was really a dream come true to see this project come to life. I shared all about it in this post, but here’s how it looked before:

And how it looks now:

Kitchen Tile Makeover

The kitchen tile project was one of those things I had been dreaming about doing since the day we moved in four years. I was desperate to get rid of that old, dingy tile but we couldn’t get it done until this year. And holy smokes, it worth the wait! I shared all about that process in this post, but here’s how it looked before:

And how it looks now:

DIY Card Catalog Coffee Table

This next one is a smaller project, but it’s still one of my favorites from 2019. I found an old card catalog at an antique shop and I knew it would be the perfect size for a coffee table. It took while for us to actually do it, but we finally made it happen! See how we did it in this post.

Painting the Trim + Doors Upstairs

Here’s another project that took us a while to actually do–painting our doors and trim upstairs! We did this project early in 2019 and I haven’t regretted it once. It totally changed the whole look and feel of this space. See more details in this post. Here’s how it looked before:

And then after painting it all white:

Kids Bedroom Makeover

In February I shared our kids’ bedroom makeover and it’s easily one of my favorites projects EVER. Again, this is one I’d been dreaming about since the day we move into this house. That dark room desperately needed another window and we were finally able to do it! I shared all about it in this post, but here’s who it looked before:

And how it looks now:

It was so awesome to get these projects checked off the list this year and I can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store for our little fixer upper. Thank you so much for being here and following along. I truly appreciate it every single day!! xoxo

Good things come to those who wait. Everything in life is a process. Ideas, thoughts, decisions, then sitting back and wait for the Lord’s okay. The ball is in his court every step of our journey. Waiting is hard but His results are wonderful. I love all the projects you have done. Such a warm, cozy and comfortable nest you have created for your beautiful family. Merry Christmas, sweet SarahπŸŽ…πŸŽ„πŸ™πŸ’• your friend, Angela

I have an old corner china cabinet, do you think it’s a good idea to chalk paint it?
