Over the last five years, one of my favorite things to share here on the blog is chalk painting projects. I’ve always loved finding old stuff to spruce up with a simple coat of paint! It’s seriously one of my favorite things to do. Plus with chalk paint, there’s basically no prep whatsoever, so it always makes for a quick and easy project. I’m talking instant gratification my friends! It’s a beautiful thing. Anyway, I thought it would be fun to take a walk down memory lane and round up my five best chalk painting projects from the last few years. These are actually all things I still own and love today!
TABLE MAKEOVER WITH CHALK PAINT
This project is pretty recent but it’s definitely one of my favorite chalk painting projects yet! I found that little wooden table for cheap at my local consignment store and gave it a fresh new look with Magnolia Home chalk paint in the color Garden Trowel. I’ve never seen a table like this one and I love it for a little plant stand. See the full project HERE.
CHALK PAINTED BARN DOOR TV COVER
I was a Nervous Nelly to paint the barn door TV cover in our living room, but I’m SO glad I decided to do it! These doors really needed a pop of color and it totally changed the vibe of our living room. Again, for this project I used Magnolia Home paint in the color Garden Trowel. It’s such a pretty soft green color! See the full project HERE.
You guys know I have an obsession with cubbies, so when I saw this one I had to snag it. It was dark green when I bought it and I knew it could be so cute with a fresh coat of paint. I used Magnolia Home chalk paint in white and I love how this turned out. It’s definitely one of my favorite finds ever! See the full before and after HERE.
OUTDOOR SWING MAKEOVER WITH CHALK PAINT
I did this project last summer and it was so much fun! We had this old wooden swing sitting on back patio for years and it desperately needed some TLC. I was actually about to throw it in the dumpster when I decided to give it a little chalk painting makeover. It turned out better than I ever expected! Again, I used Magnolia Home chalk paint in white. See the full before and after HERE.
It’s hard to believe I did this project back in early 2018–it doesn’t feel that long ago! But this is still one of my all-time favorite chalk painting projects. This is actually a metal cubby that was used for nuts and bolts back in the day. I used Magnolia Home chalk paint in the color Olive Grove to freshen it up. I can’t wait to find a spot for it at the new house! See the full project HERE.
Well there ya have it–my five best chalk painting projects. I hope those maybe inspired you to pick up a paint brush and great creative. It’s actually very therapeutic! Here are a few more chalk painting posts you might want to check out while you’re here:
Annie Sloan Chalk Paint vs Rust-Oleum Chalked Paint
I love your little house and you decorating projects. Since you will be moving does that mean you will be changing and buying new things for the new home? I see that often and have done it myself.
I might have to buy a few new things, but I’m hoping to use most of what we already have!!
So good to hear. I just love your blog and your decorating style. Also I like that you share where you buy your things and they are priced so reasonable. Love Target and Walmart.
Your posts are always uplifting, entertaining and with lots of good hints. I might try the chalk paint on a little side table I have, as you have inspired me to get busy! BTW, I am from LJ and my sister is Alice Morgan. Congrats on your new home.
I love the olive color you used on the metal wall cubby. Your home is so warm and charming!!! Chalk paint looks so pretty on all of these pieces!
