The Best Vintage Inspired Candles

Let’s imagine for a hot minute that we’re on a gameshow together and we’re trying to guess the most common way people make their homes cozy in the winter (you know, like the home decor version of Family Feud). What would your answer be?? What is your go-to, must-have cozy item? For me, I’d say that it’s burning a yummy candle. I mean, is there anything better than being cozy at home with a candle burning when it’s freezing outside?! I don’t think so. Well maybe if I had a hot cup of coffee. And a warm brownie, but let’s not get greedy here. There’s just something about a good candle that I find so calming and soothing. It’s such a simple thing, but the way our home smells really does make a huge difference in how we feel. And I guess that probably shouldn’t be a total surprise since our sense of smell is so closely linked to our emotions, right? It’s kinda crazy how the two are connected. Anyway, the older I get the more I appreciate a good, clean burning candle that makes my home smell like a little slice of heaven. Well I recently discovered the most amazing vintage-inspired candles, and I’m excited to share them with you today!

You guys know how much I love my vintage finds, so when I discovered the small business Antique Candle Works I was instantly intrigued. I did a little research and found the owner, Brittany, has a heart for all things farmhouse. She actually started the company in order to combine her love of vintage with wonderfully scented candles. Sounds like a marriage made in heaven, am I right!? Each one of these farmhouse inspired mason jar candles is hand-poured in Lafayette, Indiana. There are no yucky chemicals, instead they’re made with fine fragrance oils and soy beans, which is a big fat plus when it comes to candles.

The coolest part of all is that ACW even has a special line of “antique candles” that all come in a genuine vintage vessel of some kind–maybe in an antique coffee tin, an old bell jar, or even just a really cool vintage mug. The ACW team actually goes “picking” for the most unique antique vessels once a week. After they’re cleaned up at the candle studio, they are filled with wax and made into delicious smelling candles. How stinkin’ COOL is that?!

Their scent of the month right now is Christmas Day and HOLY SMOKES. You guys, this thing literally smells like Christmas. It’s got a bit of cinnamon, a bit of pine, balsam and other magical fragrances that make it smell exactly like Christmas should smell. And this one little candle makes the entire house smell incredible! It’s all I’ve been burning lately and I looooooove it. And bonus–it’s 10% off right now and you can find it here. There are lots of other great scents, including many that are perfect for winter. And they even carry wax melts! I wanted to to share them with you today because I think these would make an amazing Christmas gift. I seriously want to give one to every homemaker in my life because they’re just SO darn good. Plus it’s awesome when we can support small shops like this that are doing incredible work.

Thanks for swinging by the blog today and being my gameshow partner. You are awesome! I’d love to hear what you think of these candles and I hope you check them out!
