The Best Vintage Inspired Candles

Let’s imagine for a hot minute that we’re on a gameshow together and we’re trying to guess the most common way people make their homes cozy in the winter (you know, like the home decor version of Family Feud). What would your answer be?? What is your go-to, must-have cozy item? For me, I’d say that it’s burning a yummy candle. I mean, is there anything better than being cozy at home with a candle burning when it’s freezing outside?! I don’t think so. Well maybe if I had a hot cup of coffee. And a warm brownie, but let’s not get greedy here. There’s just something about a good candle that I find so calming and soothing. It’s such a simple thing, but the way our home smells really does make a huge difference in how we feel. And I guess that probably shouldn’t be a total surprise since our sense of smell is so closely linked to our emotions, right? It’s kinda crazy how the two are connected. Anyway, the older I get the more I appreciate a good, clean burning candle that makes my home smell like a little slice of heaven. Well I recently discovered the most amazing vintage-inspired candles, and I’m excited to share them with you today!

You guys know how much I love my vintage finds, so when I discovered the small business Antique Candle Works I was instantly intrigued. I did a little research and found the owner, Brittany, has a heart for all things farmhouse. She actually started the company in order to combine her love of vintage with wonderfully scented candles. Sounds like a marriage made in heaven, am I right!? Each one of these farmhouse inspired mason jar candles is hand-poured in Lafayette, Indiana. There are no yucky chemicals, instead they’re made with fine fragrance oils and soy beans, which is a big fat plus when it comes to candles.

The coolest part of all is that ACW even has a special line of  “antique candles” that all come in a genuine vintage vessel of some kind–maybe in an antique coffee tin, an old bell jar, or even just a really cool vintage mug. The ACW team actually goes “picking” for the most unique antique vessels once a week. After they’re cleaned up at the candle studio, they are filled with wax and made into delicious smelling candles. How stinkin’ COOL is that?!

Their scent of the month right now is Christmas Day and HOLY SMOKES. You guys, this thing literally smells like Christmas. It’s got a bit of cinnamon, a bit of pine, balsam and other magical fragrances that make it smell exactly like Christmas should smell. And this one little candle makes the entire house smell incredible! It’s all I’ve been burning lately and I looooooove it. And bonus–it’s 10% off right now and you can find it here. There are lots of other great scents, including many that are perfect for winter. And they even carry wax melts! I wanted to to share them with you today because I think these would make an amazing Christmas gift. I seriously want to give one to every homemaker in my life because they’re just SO darn good. Plus it’s awesome when we can support small shops like this that are doing incredible work.

Thanks for swinging by the blog today and being my gameshow partner. You are awesome! I’d love to hear what you think of these candles and I hope you check them out!

  • Went out for burgers + ice cream to celebrate surviving the week 🙌🏻🍦It’s been a long one, but hallelujah we made it. Happy weekend buddies!! 😘 #liketkit
  • Literally can’t stop smiling today because I’m SO excited to finally spill the beans about my candle with @antiquecandleco_ 😍😍 After months of working to find the perfect scent, we are thrilled to share that WARM CARAMEL CRUMBLE by Sarah Joy is coming this fall! 🍂🙌🏻 This candle is all about warm, gooey caramel, cinnamon-spiced maple, rich vanilla & baked green apples. It’s basically like heaven in a jar & I CANNOT wait for you to have this bake-y goodness in your home this fall! 🥧👏🏻
  • I finally got the botanical prints + old door project finished 🌿🙌🏻 What do you guys think?! It was kinda tricky figuring out where to hang these prints, but so many of you voted for this spot in stories & I think it’s perfect 👏🏻👏🏻 The floral prints are from @walmart & I LOVE them. I have an obsession with botanical artwork & these are my new favorite. This is all on the blog today & I also linked up a bunch of other botanical prints from Walmart here: #liketkit #ad #LTKhome
  • Spent the day in jammies, snuggling my sick kiddos + watching all of their favorite movies 😍 I hate seeing them sick, especially since we’re only a few days into the new school year, but I sure do love these simple days when they need me the most. Nothing else matters more than this right here ❤️👏🏻 #liketkit
  • Did a little switcheroo in my vanity area & added in a new rug 🙌🏻😍 I actually took it from the back deck, so it’s technically not new, but it sure adds a lot of pizazz to this spot, right?! Much more cozy now 👏🏻👏🏻 Do you move things around in your home from one room to another? I do it all the time & it’s an easy way to freshen things up without spending any money! #liketkit #LTKhome
  • My little kitchen island is one of my favorite things in our home + I always get so many questions about it. It was actually made from reclaimed barn wood & we’ve had it over 10 years now 😍😍 I bought it when we moved into our first home & it’s been with us ever since. I kinda have an emotional connection to it now—it’s been through so much with us. Do you have furniture like that?? I’ll probably still have this island in my kitchen when I’m an old granny! 👵🏻❤️
