Ok, I’ll admit it. I’ve done a very small portion of my Christmas shopping so far even though I said things would be different this year. I promised myself I’d get on it, I’d be organized with lists and objectives and timelines. But none of that happened. Instead here we are at December 12th and I still have sooooooo much to do. But as soon as I finish writing this post I’m going to start online shopping, so that’s a start, right?! Oy. I’m such a procrastinator. It’s a problem, but at least I recognize it, right? Maybe that’s something I should focus on for the new year. No more procrastinating. Anyway, I hope your Christmas shopping is done and you’re worry free for the next two weeks until the big day. I also hope you’re enjoying a yummy snack or beverage right now because I have a fun little tour of our farmhouse Christmas kitchen and breakfast nook for you today. Per usual I went a teensy bit crazy with the photos, so get yourself comfy and let’s get on with it!
We’ve been drinking hot chocolate by the gallon lately. Seriously, my kiddos are little hot chocolate addicts. They want it morning, noon, and night. So instead of dealing with a zillion little packets of hot cocoa mix, I decided to buy the mega size container and just dump it in this jar. And of course we have to have mini marshmallows. I mean, it’s pretty much required for hot chocolate.
Old scales will always be one of my all-time favorite things to decorate with. They just add so much charm to any space. All it took was this yummy holiday candle, a few cinnamon sticks and a bit of greenery to spruce this baby up for Christmas. Easy and simple!
I snagged this wooden Merry Christmas sign from Michael’s this year for super cheap and I love it. What is it about old red trucks?! They’re just so darn cute and perfect for Christmas.
I added a little bit of Christmas cheer to our breakfast nook area with a few wreaths and a couple of wooden Christmas trees. Not much, but just enough to get this space nice and jolly!
I gotta say, it was lots of fun to decorate our new snazzy kitchen for Christmas. I’ve pretty much skipped it the past few years, or done very little, but I was excited to do it this year. You guys know this kitchen has come a loooooooong way over the past two years (you can see the big makeover post here). We definitely don’t have the biggest or the fanciest kitchen, but it’s perfect for us. And now it’s ready for Christmas!
Well let me know what you think and if you have any questions. I always LOVE chatting with you guys!

Beautiful kitchen!
Good morning Sarah!
I have loved all of your decorating! And I have a question. While I like to keep things “uncluttered” in the kitchen, i.e. no stacks of fliers that come in the mail, household papers, etc., I still have my toaster, Keurig, crock with cooking implements, and basket of oil and salt and pepper in it, sitting on the counters. I know you have your home photo ready for photos, but do you have to pull these different items out each time you want to use, or what does your kitchen look like on a daily basis? Sorry for being nosy, I just wonder how folks really live I guess!
Thanks for sharing your great ideas with us!
Tammy
Haha I had the exact same question! lol I look at my kitchen (and it’s just my husband and me since we are retired) and there is stuff everywhere!! I long for a clean uncluttered kitchen!!! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us.
Well I did clean up some of the clutter for this photoshoot! But the only thing I took out other than stacks of paper was our toaster. It’s old and not the prettiest thing. Everything else stayed!
Ok I just have to say…in your words…your place is decorated “so stinking cute”.LOL!!! I love the way your decorated your place …looks very cozy, a place a family can enjoy their family for the holiday season.Best of all, quite a bit of yr decorations can stay after the holidays. I know being a blogger you will change it..but you have everything to change it around..

I could look at the pictures of your kitchen all day!! You really did a great job with the Christmas decor. The renovation is amazing…..I just love it!! Thanks for the post on gifts for men, I ordered the beard kit for my oldest son. He never goes without a beard, so I think he will love it.

Please tell us about the wreaths on your upper cabinet doors -they are so cute .
Hi Marilyn! Those are actually from the dollar spot at Target. They’re just small pieces of garland that I just wrapped in loops and tied. Easy and super cheap!
What a gorgeous white kitchen you have! looks like you are ready for Christmas 😀 .The scale is attractive in the kitchen when I look at the pictures I notice the scale first.Love how you add the scale there. Thanks for sharing your blog.
Hi Sarah I love all your posts and you so inspire me to decorate my house. I was just wondering if you could tell me the width of the ship lap that you have used in your dining and living room as it comes in various sizes. Thank you so much
Where are the trees on your table from?
