This past weekend I was talking to a good friend about how I feel like my “me time” has decreased significantly since having a third baby. I mean, it’s pretty obvious that my time would be even more stretched after adding another baby to the mix, but I guess I didn’t realize how little time I’d have to myself during this season of life. And don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining at all. I love my life and all the craziness that comes with it, but it has been a struggle to figure out how to take care of myself while also taking care of everyone else at the same time. It’s not easy to find that balance, especially since I work from home and my husband works really long hours. But over the past couple of months I’ve been making more of an effort to take care of myself. I’ve been working out again, reading (which has been awesome) and leaving the house at least once a week to do something by myself. It may not sound like much, but those little things really do help me be a better mom. Another thing I’ve been doing is making my skincare a priority in my life.
I’ve been really open with you guys about the fact that I wasn’t born with great skin. My skin is insanely sensitive and I can literally break out from the tiniest things. Thankfully it has calmed down a bit as I get older, but I’ve struggled off and on through years of acne. And then all the fun hormones that come with pregnancy didn’t do my skin any favors either. I was never the pregnant lady with a glow. More like the pregnant lady with blotchy skin. So as a result I have always been very self-conscious when it comes to my skin. But it honestly wasn’t until about a year ago that I finally got serious about investing in good skincare. I now consider my skincare routine to be part of my “me time” and just something I do to take care of myself. I have more confidence and feel so much better about myself when my skin looks good, so I make it a priority in my life. And it’s actually something I’ve become really passionate about and I love sharing that with you all. I recently shared my full routine here, but today I thought it would be fun to chat about my three must-have skin care products for brighter and more radiant skin for spring and summer.
When I hear the word mask I always think of something that is meant to detox my skin and basically dry the heck out of it. But that’s not the case with this Kefir Recovery Mask. This stuff is ammmmmmmazing and it works to put good stuff back into your skin, like hydration, Vitamin C and loads of probiotics. It’s meant to replenish moisture and sooth dry and distressed skin. I like to use this mask once a week to help make my skin look more vibrant and radiant. Also before special occasions or just any time I want my skin looking extra fresh and glowy. It also helps improve texture, which is always a BIG win for me.
Dual-Phase Skin Reviving Treatment Pads
I just added these treatment pads to my routine recently and I am HOOKED. Obsessed. In love. Addicted. You get it. These are definitely a must have for brighter, smoother skin. Each pad has two sides–one is meant to gently exfoliate your skin and the other side is covered with a serum that helps give the skin a fresh, brighter appearance. I am using these twice a week and it’s like a mini facial. I can see an immediate improvement in the look of my skin right after using one of these little magic pads.
Probiotic Aqua Infusion Gel Cream
Another go-to for me lately has been this super lightweight aqua gel cream. It’s perfect for this time of year because it’s not greasy or heavy at all, which is great as the weather gets warmer, but it’s still hydrates my skin and gives it a very glowy, radiant look. This stuff is like “8 glasses of water for your skin in just 2 pumps”. It’s very moisturizing and it’s also meant to help reduce the appearance of any redness or irritation. I’ve been using it before I apply my makeup in the morning and I love it.
I really love sharing my passion for good skincare with you guys and I hope you enjoy it too. My skin has improved so much since I started using Tula and it’s been amazing to see the progress it’s made over the past year. I started using the Tula products about 9 months ago as well. I am older (but wiser) and find this line to be amazing for this stage in skin life ha! I too have sensitive skin even at my age and find these products to improve the touch and appearance of my skin. I LOVE it and can only say THANK YOU Sarah for recommending this product! I can’t wait to try some of the other products you suggested in your blog today!!!
Aw that’s good to hear. So glad you are loving Tula!! xo
Hey! I’m have started using Tula and LOVE it! I just finished my jar of Hydrating Day and Night cream and was interested in the Aqua Gel. I wanted to know your thoughts or if you had a preference between the two. Thanks!
Hi Marjorie, if I had to choose I’d go with the day and night cream. It’s a bit heavier, but it just feels so good on my skin and I think it helps a lot with my texture/lines. Both are good, but that is my pick between the two!
Thanks for the recommendation, Sarah–I just put in an order and used your discount code. I’m looking forward to trying it out 🙂
Oh that’s great Diana! I think you are going to really love it. Can’t wait for your order to arrive!!
