Cozy Farmhouse Christmas Living Room

I don’t know why but this Christmas season has me feeling super sentimental and emotional. Maybe because it’s our first Christmas as a family of five, or maybe it’s because the two bigger kids are finally getting old enough to really understand what is happening. It’s just so exciting and I want to do all I can to make this season magical for all three of them. I want to make as many memories as possible, bake all the goodies, see all the things, and just enjoy this time before it’s over, you know what I mean? I know it will go by in a blink of an eye, so every day I have to remind myself to soak it in and enjoy it while I can. Anyway, enough rambling–today I am super duper excited to share our farmhouse Christmas living room. I had so much fun decorating this room for Christmas and I have to say–it feels so darn cozy. I’m actually curled up on the couch as I work on this post and it feels like a mini Christmas wonderland in here. I love it and I can’t wait to show you guys!

I got lucky and found two of these porcelain tubs a few years ago and I saved them specifically for our Christmas trees. I used this one last year with a real tree, but it also works really well for this cute little flocked tree. I think it adds the perfect touch of vintage charm to the room!

I bought these mini flocked trees from Michael’s a few weeks ago and I kinda wish I had 10 more of them. Seriously. I have a flocked tree obsession this year. But aren’t they so cute?! I also used one in our Christmas entryway and I just think they are the perfect size.

As I was photographing this room I got a little sad about the fact that I only get to enjoy all these gorgeous holiday pillows for another few weeks. They’re just so darn pretty. Right now I’m thinking I’ll just leave them out as part of my winter decor following Christmas–especially that lovely white one. That baby could stay out all year long! All of these pillows can be found here.

Our living room is actually a pretty small space, but it’s definitely one of the coziest rooms in our home. We spend so much time in here as a family, so I really wanted to give this room a big dose of Christmas but keep it realistic at the same time. I tried to keep from going overboard with stuff the kids might want to fiddle with and kept it pretty basic for the most part. It’s really just lots of great holiday pillows, a few flocked trees, and a bit of greenery. Nothing fancy at all. Just the way I like it!

    Hi, Sarah!
Your home is always so lovely and inviting. I have been following you for quite some time and I love your ideas and the positive energy that your posts have.
I belong to a group of woman that are trying to make a difference in our own lives and in the lives of other, often overwhelmed, moms. One of my first tasks for myself is to totally de-clutter my home, (and my life), and I was wondering if you could share how and where you store your seasonal items and beautiful antique and vintage pieces.
My home is small and I need to cut the cluttered look that I have. After 46 years of marriage, I have a lot of pieces that I don’t want to part with but no room to display a lot. Have you any ideas for storage solutions?
