10 Hair & Beauty Favorites Under $30

Hallelujah, we made it through the week my friends. Whoot whoot!! How are you guys? I feel like we haven’t chatted in a while. I was thinking I need to do a little life update post to just share some things that have been going on lately and chat about a few ideas that have been swirling around in my head. Nothing serious, but just some things that I’d like to talk about. You guys know I’m a talker. Some might even call me a rambler. And honestly I’m ok with that, because it’s true. I like to talk through my feelings. My husband is so lucky, he gets to listen to me ramble every single day. And he loves it. (kidding!) Anyway, today I’m in the mood to chat about some fun things like hair and beauty products, so I’ve rounded up 10 of my absolute favorites and they’re all under $30. This is random mix of things–some are fairly new to me and some are products I’ve been using for years. Grab your coffee and let’s hop to it!

Hair and Beauty Favorites Under $30

Living Proof Dry Volume Blast--I recently started using this volume blast spray from Living Proof and I have been loving it. It’s basically like using dry shampoo, but it gives my hair a ton of volume and texture. Plus it smells amazing, which is nice too.

Dior 3D Triple Volume Lash Primer–OK, I have to confession. I really, really want eyelash extensions. I think they are SO pretty, but dang they are crazy expensive. A full set around here is at least $200 and many are closer to $300. Then you have to get them filled every two weeks! I’ve done lash lifts in the past, which I loved, but those run about $80 and I think they’re kind of damaging to my lashes. So I’ve found a cheaper alternative that I’ve been loving lately. This Dior lash primer is AMAZING and it seriously makes my lashes look 3x bigger. I just apply one thick coat right before my mascara. And I don’t use it every day, but when I do it makes a HUGE difference. It helps keep my lashes curled all day and they look so much thicker too. I’m obsessed. And at less than $30, it’s an awesome alternative to lash extensions or a lash lift.

NYX Butter Gloss–One of the most common questions I get over on Instagram stories is about my lip color. Well, 95% of the time it’s nothing but my beloved NYX butter gloss in the shade Cream Brûlée. This stuff is my go-to lip product and it’s only $4. I looooooove it. I like to keep a tube on me at all times, which means at any given point I own 312 tubes of this stuff.

Big Sexy Hair Volumizing Dry Volume Gel–I’ve been using this volumizing gel for about 5 years now and I LOVE it. It’s what I use every single time I round brush my hair and blow it out. It’s great because it adds volume without weighing my hair down. I use a dime size amount on my wet hair and it works like a charm. And less than $10 too!

Bye Bye Pores Poreless Finish Airbrush PowderI’ve used this setting powder for several months now and I love it. It makes my skin look smooth and soft, plus it also helps my makeup stay on longer. And it doesn’t break me out, which is a HUGE plus.

Crest 3d WhiteStrips--I recently had to whiten my teeth before a dental procedure I needed done on one of my front teeth. I used these whitening strips and I LOVE them. I actually use these about once a year and they always do a great job. And they’re super affordable too!

Tarte Leave Your Mark Eyeshadow Palette–I mentioned this in a Friday Favorites post recently, but I have to include it in this list because I love it so much. This palette is what I’ve been using every single day for about two months now. It’s perfect because it has shades that work for both day and night time. You can do a brown smokey eye for a dramatic look or a more natural day-time look with the golden shades. It’s definitely a great buy at $30!

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion--Lately I’ve been dealing with some super fun breakouts. I’m not sure what’s going on, but I’ve been using this amazing drying lotion to help zap all those pesky little suckers. This stuff is great because you just dab it on any problem spots and leave it overnight. And when you wake up the spot is noticeably smaller. It’s like magic.

Tarte Waterproof Bronzer–This has been my favorite bronzer for SO long now. I love it because it doesn’t break me out and it’s long wearing, which I think is really hard to find when it comes to bronzer. It’s a bit pricey, but I think it’s totally worth it for those two reasons.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation–I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m a foundation junkie. Growing up with breakouts and challenging skin, I fell in love with foundation because it helped me feel more confident in my skin. I’ve tried a TON of different foundations over the years and one of my all-time favorites is this one by Clinique. I love this because it’s really affordable for a higher-end foundation and it makes my skin look SO good. It’s full coverage, and most days I don’t even need concealer when I wear it. Plus it doesn’t break me out and it wears pretty well throughout the day too. It’s right under $30, which I think is a great deal.

I had so much fun putting this list together and I hope you enjoyed it too! Thank you SOOOOO much for hanging out with me today on the blog. I hope you have a fabulous weekend and I’ll see you right back here bright and early Monday morning.

Thank you for sharing! I use the same foundation and used to work for clinique. It’s actually a foundation and concealer in one. 🙂

Instead of Lash Extensions – you need Lash Boost By Rodan+Fields. It’s WAY WAY CHEAPER & gives you the same results – longer, stronger, thicker lashes. I’d love to hook you up. https://jruddell.myrandf.com/

  • I can’t believe it’s already been three weeks since our trip to the Silobration. 😍😍 I was so glad my husband could go along with me & I love this shot of us—standing in muddy puddles & soaking wet, but happy as can be. I am so blessed to do life with this guy by my side for over 16 years now. 🙏❤️
  • Rise & shine, it’s coffeeeeeee time! ☕️☕️Can you believe Thanksgiving is only two weeks from today? TWO WEEKS. Time to get yo stretchy pants ready!! 🙌🏻 I’d love to know what Thanksgiving traditions you have in your family. I’m looking for new things to do with the kids & I’m curious if you do anything special or unique to celebrate the day?! 🦃
  • You guys told me you love before & after shots, so here’s another one for you. Swipe right to see how I styled our breakfast nook when we first moved in three years ago. This was actually after I painted the walls, they were dark brown before, and I was pretty happy with how it looked. 😬Obviously we have since updated a few things in this space—I added faux shiplap (it was my first big project & I was so proud I did it all by myself!) and then I added a new light fixture, a different table, shelves, etc. .
.
The thing that strikes me the most with these two photos is the difference in my style. At the time I was struggling to figure out what I liked & how I could make that work with a tight budget. It didn’t happen over night, but slowly things have evolved in this space & it looks totally different today. And if you think about it, that’s kind of the cool thing about life. Nothing we do is ever perfect when we just start out. There are bumps in the road, struggles, growing pains, etc. But as time goes on we (hopefully) evolve to be better than when we began. And even though it’s nice to get to the pretty after photo, especially if you’re impatient like me, it’s also kind of nice to appreciate the journey. Yes, that’s cheesy as heck. But it’s TRUE. I love looking back at these photos of when we first started out because it reminds me of the journey & how hard we’ve worked on our home. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m grateful for it all!
  • Today was crazy/surreal/awesome all at the same time. I spent the day working on a project that totally took me out of my comfort zone, but it went so well & I’m happy I decided to push myself & do it. (Watch my stories to see what I’ve been up to!) Then when I got home I had this smiling baby waiting for me at the front door. My husband snapped this picture of us & I just love the look on her little face. This girl is attached to my hip all day every day, so she was very happy to be back with mama. 😍😍 Now it’s time for pizza & cozy clothes!! 🙌🏻🙏
  • I’m still a little ways off from jumping into Christmas decor, but I did pick up a pair of these eucalyptus & pinecone wreaths from Target yesterday. I loooooooove them & now I’m getting a teeny tiny itch to add a few more pops of Christmas into this room. BUT I’m going to hold out a little longer. Anyone else still holding onto pumpkins or have you started to deck the halls?!
  • #flashbackfriday to one of my favorite snapshots with my girl. I can’t believe this was almost a year ago 😭😭 This sweet pea is my little BFF & I shared in stories today about how she teaches me to be brave. I hope you watch it if you’re facing something big in your life right now. It’s a simple, yet powerful reminder that fear is choice & you can face anything in life if you simply make the decision to be brave. #goforit #getthatcandygirl
