Happpppy Tuesday guys! I am seriously so excited today because I’m sharing my current skincare routine. Whoot whoot! So many of you have asked to see this post and I’m honestly thrilled to be able to share more of what I love here on LVN. Now before I get into it I have to tell you guys that I’m extremely picky about what I use on my skin because it’s been through the wringer over the years. Throughout high school and even into my early college years I had some pretty terrible cystic acne, which left me with lots of scarring and discoloration. It was awful. Thankfully my skin began to improve as I got older, but with each of my three pregnancies I experienced the joys of hormonal acne and even melasma.
Needless to say my skin is extremely sensitive and I have to be very careful about what products I use. And honestly, it’s something that I’ve felt SO self-conscious about over the years, which is why I am always looking for ways to help my skin look as good as it possibly can. Well towards the end of my pregnancy with Ava I began to get really frustrated with how my skin was looking. I was breaking out (thank you lovely hormones!) the texture was bad, and it was clearly dehydrated. I gave up on the skincare products I had been using, they clearly weren’t working for me anymore, and I started looking for something new. And that’s when I discovered Tula.
Tula was interesting to me because it’s a probiotic based skincare line. How cool is that? It turns out that the same probiotics that are known to help keep our bodies healthy are also proven to do amazing things for our skin and they have tons of anti-aging benefits. They even decrease sensitivity, redness and inflammation–which is excellent for sensitive skin like mine. Apparently probiotics are the bomb when it comes to skincare. Who knew, right?! Well I decided to give it a try and I honestly cannot believe the difference I have seen in my skin in just two months of using this stuff. I’m so excited to walk you through exactly what I use and how I use it, so grab a cup of coffee and let’s jump into it!
So let’s start with my simple morning routine. Every morning I wash my face with the Purifying Face Cleanser, which is a probiotic gel formula that is meant to clean the skin without stripping it of moisture–which is key when you have sensitive skin like I do. I was breaking out pretty badly when I started using this and I noticed my skin began to clear up within just a few days. It’s truly amazing stuff and it even removes my eye make-up, which is an extra bonus in my book.
After the cleanser I use the Illuminating Face Serum. This is an awesome light-weight serum that is meant to even skin-tone and smooth texture–which is always a big concern of mine given all my scarring. I was really excited to try this serum out and I love, love, love it. I have noticed a HUGE improvement in my skin’s texture since I started using this about 2 months ago. Even my husband commented on the difference in my skin. I just apply a pea-size amount to my entire face and let it soak in about 10 minutes before applying my makeup. My skin seriously glows after I use this stuff.
Now for my nighttime routine I use the same probiotic cleanser to wash my face and remove all my makeup, then I apply the Hydrating Day and Night Cream. You can definitely use this in the morning too, but it’s a thicker consistency than the serum so I prefer to use it at night only. And a little goes a long way! This cream is perfect for hydrating my skin without making it feel greasy or breaking me out, which is what happens with the majority of night creams I have tried. After using this I wake up every morning with hydrated skin that is soft and glowing.
Lastly I use the Exfoliating Treatment Mask. I apply this twice a week and it really helps with detoxifying my skin and giving it a deep clean without stripping it of the good stuff. I just apply a thin layer over my entire face, let it dry for about 10 minutes and then gently scrub it off with warm water. This has really helped with the discoloration left from my super fun pregnancy mask and it makes my skin look so much brighter the next day.
That’s it! My morning and nighttime routine is pretty simple, but that’s how I like it. I’ve found that layering on too many different products causes my tempermental skin to breakout, so I prefer to use just a few really good ones that pack a powerful punch. And I can honestly say that these Tula products and their probiotic magic have dramatically improved my skin. Even my husband has noticed the difference and it’s only been two months. And let me just say, when you have a history of troubled skin like I do, there is seriously nothing better in the world than feeling confident and happy with how your skin looks.

Thank you to Tula for sponsoring today’s post! All opinions are 100% my own. I never share anything I don’t use and love.
Thank you so much for sharing this post! I know exactly what it feels like to struggle with the same skin issues as you have, and I’m excited to look into these products! I love your blog and look forward to each new post! Thanks for sharing! Have a great day 🙂
Aw thank you so much Kristine, I really appreciate that! xoxo
Thanks for sharing your skin care routine. I have tried so many products over the years to treat my dark spots and break outs. I am always looking for something new to try. I have never heard of this product, so thanks again for sharing!
I’m right there with you Nikki! It’s tough trying new products when you have such sensitive skin but this stuff is AMAZING.
Would you mind sharing about how long these products last you? Is it a month supply? Thanks so much! 🙂
Hi Renee! I’ve been using them about 2 months now and I still have plenty of product left for the most part. Especially the night cream–a little goes a long way! I’d say the cleanser goes the fastest, I need to order more of that in another two weeks or so.
Love the skincare. Will you add hair and makeup too. I remember you did an instastory on hair and I forgot to write it down ;( Your hair is just the bomb!!!!
Ha thank you Stacy! I will try to add those posts in soon! 🙂
I love simple and quick skin care as well! Definitely going to try these!
Thanks for sharing!
Me too Renee. Simple but awesome for the win!
I just got a box of Tula products and I can’t wait to see how they work! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and what you use, hoping to get some much needed help for my skin!
This is awesome! So glad it worked for you! You have gorgeous skin girlie!
Thank you for sharing! I’ve had issues with my skin this past year and never really before, well after my teenage years, lol. It’s so frustrating. I’d really like to try this. Are the sizes posted here from the Discovery Kit?
I hear ya on the bad skin. I am 38, had 2 kids, and STILL breakout. It’s so frustrating! I started using Beautycounter this year, and while I love the fact that there are no chemicals in it, I am STILL breaking out quite frequently. I am intrigued by this.
One trick I started doing is NOT washing my face in the morning (as long as I didn’t workout). I just do the nighttime routine, and the thick moisturizer is still there the next morning. I have found it saves time (and money). I also use plain witch hazel at night after cleansing. I love how clean it makes my face feel.
Do you use an electric brush on your face?
Im definitely going to give the tula brand a try! Thanks for the suggestions!!! http://www.moisturizers.com
