A simple guide to the best farmhouse style decor and furniture.
I’ve created a simple style guide for any of you that are in the process of transitioning to farmhouse decor in your home. What you’ll find here are my best recommendations for key items that truly have the biggest impact in your home: paint colors, area rugs, furniture, curtains, and lots more. I’ve also done by best to keep all the items in this guide very affordable and budget friendly shopping guide for farmhouse style decor and furniture.
If you haven’t ready my post about how I personally transitioned to farmhouse style, jump on over and take a peek. I shared photos of our old home, how I decorated, and what I’d do differently today. That is a great starting point if you’re wanting to make the same transition yourself.I hope this guide inspires you to create a home YOU love. Because after all, that’s really what matters—loving the home you have and making it your happy place. And be sure to stop by the SJB SHOP for even more farmhouse finds!

Now let’s do some shopping. First up is rugs!
Area rugs play a huuuuuuge role in setting the tone for your decor. I really can’t stress that enough. And if you read my post about how I transitioned to farmhouse decor, you’d probably agree. Remember the orange rug in our old living room? Yep, it was orange. And it wasn’t pretty. Choosing a more neutral toned rug is generally a better idea if you’re going for a farmhouse look. But keep in mind, rugs are more of an investment, although the 5 I’ve gathered here are well priced. As for size, I usually got for either a 5×7 or 8×10 for my area rugs.
