Want to hear something funny? Well it’s actually not that funny at all, but here goes. As I prep this post all about our simple spring living room I’m currently watching it snow outside my bedroom window. Ironic, right? And I don’t mean just a little snow. No my friends, I’m talking massive amounts of snow happening right now. Like the kind of snow that you need to go knock off the tree branches because if you don’t the whole dang tree could fall over. It’s just wrong. The whole thing is giving me a headache and making me really question my life choices right now. Sure, let’s live in Colorado they say. It’s so pretty and clean and nice. AND SNOWY. As I type this my lilac bushes are probably freezing, which means they won’t keep blooming–along with all the other flowers that were starting to come up. Oy. I’m clearly not handling it well, I know. And I apologize for the rant, but dang. I had to get it out. We can move on now. Today I have lots of simple spring decor in our living room to share with you all. Now you know how I usually share way too many photos in my room tours, so let me recommend finding a comfy spot and maybe a snack or two to get you through this one. It’s kinda long!
You might remember seeing this vintage chair in a Friday Favorites post a while back. I’ve moved it around the house to a few different spots now, but I really like it here. I just love this little chair, I wish I had 2 or 3 more just like this. And how cute are those white faux orchids in moss balls? So fun and perfect for spring!
You all saw the little TV stand makeover I shared last week in this post here. I know I’ve already talked about it, so I won’t bore you again, but I’m sooooooo happy that I finally put some time and effort into this area of our living room. For the first time EVER I can honestly say I love the way I’ve decorated the wall behind the TV. That silly spot has been my nemesis for months now. But no more, I am victorious!
You guys, can we just talk about that giant clock for a hot minute. I found it at World Market last weekend and I literally squealed like a crazy person when I saw it. Isn’t she purdy?! I’ve been searching for a big clock like this for my old door for ages now and I finally found one that I absolutely love. It’s PERFECT for the door.
Oh how I love this little reading nook. This is still hands down one of my favorite projects EVER (you can see how we did it here). I don’t know what we’d do without the extra storage space in that bench. Things may look pretty and clean in here, but inside that bench…it’s like a disaster zone. Toys, blankets, books, pillows. Goldfish crackers. You name it, it’s probably in there.
Our living room is a small space, so I try to keep things pretty simple in here. But it’s amazing how you can give any room a whole new feel with just a few minor changes. I added the new clock, the farmhouse chalkboard, my cute vintage chair and lots and lots of greenery and flowers. Plus those changes I made to the TV stand and the wall behind it–they all add up to make a pretty big difference in this room. And I’ll go out on a limb here and say this is my favorite way our living room room has looked since we moved in. Spring is just the best! Except for when a massive snow storm comes out of nowhere and ruins your lilac bushes. That’s not cool.
I’m so thankful to have you drop by and I hope it’s nice and sunny wherever you are today. I’d love to hear what you think of my spring living room–and of course let me know if you have any questions!

Looks so fresh . Sorry about the snow -we’ve been swimming in the lake (here in northern GA) for the past 3 weeks. But trust me come winter we will be jealous of your snow !
Oh Marilyn, that makes me so jealous. Enjoy that lake and sunshine, hopefully we get some warm weather soon!
Love your living room. You are adding chalkboards a I have a suggestion for you. Put a large one down where the kids can write and draw on it while you are in the kitchen working. It was great for spelling words and math many years ago.
Great idea Sally, I need to do that. Thanks!
I can feel your pain regarding the snow. I live in Minnesota. We are having the same kind of weather. All of my perennials are coming up through the snow & cold rain. They forecast temp. to be 60 by next week.
Oh you definitely know what it’s like then Judy. I’m sure Minnesota has very similar spring storms. Hopefully we are in the clear now that it’s May!
It all looks so beautiful!! I love all the flowers and you made your tv look great! That is hard to do!!
Thanks sweet Kellie!
I enjoy reading your posts since signing up about 2 weeks ago! Here in PA, we had a huge storm and accumulated about 24 inches ????, then our roof caved in on the front porch ???? Thankfully it’s finally over and our trees and flowers are just starting to bloom, so hopefully this will be your last sight of snow till the season starts again… love your living room and wish I had a fireplace lol. So beautiful!
Oh my word Corrine, that’s a lot of snow! I shouldn’t be complaining, you got way more than we did. So sorry to hear that your roof caved in on your front porch, that’s awful! Hopefully you only have warm weather from here on out.
Az here have air on. Question what do use to clean your wood floor so nice and shinny
Oh I’m jealous Ellen! And for the floors we use Bona hardwood cleaner, it works really well.
I love the clock! I’m slightly obsessed with clocks, so that’s right up my alley!
Thanks Lori, I love it too!
Looks so clean and fresh…I just love your style. I get a lot of ideas from you. Sorry you got more snow. I hate it for you. ???? At least your house is full of spring. ????
Thanks Nikki, hopefully we are done with the snow now. Fingers crossed!
Looks beautiful, Sarah. Love how light and airy everything looks. I just placed a vintage frame above my tv console.
I need to do a bit more to it before I’m happy, so I totally understand your thoughts on yours.
I’m bummed about your outdoor flowers. 🙁 Praying the Lord will revive them, so you can enjoy a taste of Heaven for just a bit longer this season.
It’s definitely a work in progress decorating above the tv. Sounds like you have a good start though with that vintage frame! And thanks for the well wishes for my flowers, I’m praying they survived.
If it’s any consolation, it’s freezing here in the UK….. so much rain today and I’m as desperate as you for warm sunshine and for my flowers and vegetables to begin growing! As ever, your home looks warm and beautiful though x
Oh dang, rain is no fun either Helen. Thankfully the sun returned today and I hope we are done with the snow for good now. Fingers crossed you get sunshine in the UK soon too!
It looks so fresh and light…it’s hard to imagine all that snow being just outside your door, but I know it’s true also because my best friend lives in Monument, CO, plus I have two nieces that live out there. I’m coming to visit there in a few weeks so hope it warms up again. So sorry about your lilacs, they are my favorite, so sad they are getting ruined 🙁
Oh Brenda, I hope the sunshine and warm weather is here when you come for your visit. You never know with Colorado, the weather can change in an instant. I’m just hoping we are done with snow now that it’s May.
Its oh so beautiful , but for me in Australia im in Autumn, but im from Ireland which feels like spring here in Queensland.
Love the way you change to suit the seasons 🙂
Love the cute spring updates you made to your living room! Can’t believe you’re still getting snow. I’m hoping we’re done with that here, but you never know!! Haha!
Ok… I absolutely LOVE everything you do with your home decor!! I’ve decided that rather than try to imitate your style… I just want your house with all the furnishings!!LOL ????
Seriously , I love the fresh and cozy feeling of the Spring decor and sorry about the snow!!
Keep the posts and ideas coming… so enjoy then!!!❤️
Aw Carla! You are so darn sweet. Thank you so much for those kind words. Big hugs to you!
Hey where did you get the decorative wood piece above your tv?
Lovely space!!! I wish I had a knack for decorating. We are on a mission to revamp our living room, so this is inspiring. I think you mentioned in another post that your sofa is the Brennan from La-Z-Boy Furniture. I was just in there and the amount of fabric options is too much for me. Can you tell me what customization options you chose for yours pretty please??? Color/pattern of fabric, color of legs, nailheads, etc. I would be forever grateful 🙂
It all Looks amazing!! What is the beautiful wood piece above your picture frames and where did you get it? I need one!! 😍 Thanks!!
Where did u. Get that rug
It’s an old one from Target, but they don’t sell it anymore 🙁
I love your tv stand. Where did you get this? I need one. Thanks!
Thanks Tracey! This TV stand is an old one we’ve had forever. I just painted it white and took the doors off.
