Master Bedroom Spring Tour

So the other day I was cleaning out one of our linen closets and I stumbled on something I had completely forgotten about–the most gorgeous watercolor floral bedding. I actually got this last year and put it away when Fall rolled around, then apparently I forgot it even existed. I was even telling my husband just the other day that we need to get new bedding because ours is so worn out. And all the while I had this tucked away in the closet. Sheesh. Blame it on the pregnancy brain, I guess. Anyway, I dug it out and I’ve been kind of crazy about it ever since. Now I will say–it’s a little out of my usual neutral-loving comfort zone. This bedding is colorful, bright, and it definitely screams SPRING. But hey, I’m all about mixing it up every now and then. And honestly, I can’t help but feel a little peppier with this bedding. It’s just happy–and I like happy. So today I figured it would be fun to share a little spring bedroom tour, which I haven’t done in ages. I’ve kept it pretty simple, the bedding is really the star of the show here, but it’s a nice change for the new season.

Master Bedroom Spring Tour. Simple spring decor ideas for the bedroom.

I've really been having fun going through the house and adding touches of spring here and there. And I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I enjoy decorating for spring more than I do for Christmas. Gasp! I know, it's probably not what most of you would say, but it's really my favorite. Not only does it signify a new season, full of hope and renewal, but I just love the cheeriness it brings. Spring decor is easy and fun. I love it.

This bedding is the Wisteria Mint collection from Blue Bell Gray. I looked around and it’s actually still available at Macy’s, where it’s currently on clearance. I think it’s perfect for spring and summer. Plus it’s soooooo cozy.

My dear friend actually got me this sign from Magnolia Market last year. I absolutely love it, but I know it’s crazy expensive on their website. I found this very similar one on Etsy for half the price.

The other side of the room has my beloved vintage door mirror. I shared this project last year, but you can check out the tutorial here if you’re interested. Definitely one of my favorite projects ever.

I kept things pretty simple in here for spring, but that’s the way I like it. This is actually my “office” most of the time, I tend to write many of my posts cozied up in bed, so I want this space to feel clean and uncluttered–it really calms me and I just find it relaxing. And even though neutrals will always have my heart, I’m really loving this colorful and happy bedding for spring. It just brightens up the entire room, which is a welcome sight after a long winter. I’m just glad I stumbled on it hiding in our linen closet. Poor thing was living a lonely life in there.

Well I hope you enjoyed this little tour of our master bedroom looking all perky for spring. I’ve really been having fun going through the house and adding touches of spring here and there. I mean, what’s not to love about pretty colors and flowers, right?! I have so much more to show you all, so stay tuned!

Great photos! Two comments and one question. I love the door turned wall mirror and the ladder near your bed (I love ladders-I have four I am using in different rooms, plus one hung over our center island) and my question…did you put the ship lap on your wall? If so was it hard to do? I would love to put it on a couple of our walls. I agree…..your bedding certainly looks like Spring has sprung! KUDOS for finding your pretty bedding!

Hi Patty! Yep, we did put that planked wall up. I actually shared the tutorial last year, you can check it out here: https://sarahjoyblog.com/master-bedroom-planked-wall/ A wall like that, with no windows or weird angles, was super easy to do.

Thanks Sarah for answering my question. Also I just took a better look at your room and realized that it is not a ladder by your bed, but looks like you hung a window frame with no glass. What ever It is, it looks great! Very creative!

Your bedding looks so bright and springy! I love it when I forget about fun treasures hidden away. The “oh yeah” surprise is almost worth the forgotten item. Question- where did you get your wire baskets that are hung above your bed? They look so cute next to the adorable print. Oh and I LOVE the door mirror!!????

    Hi Sarah
On your page it says that if I sign up for your emails I will get a free printable farm picture. How do we go about getting that?

Hi Deborah, that’s a good question. After signing up you should have received an email asking you to confirm your subscription to my newsletter. Once you click on confirm in that email you’ll automatically get a welcome email from me, which includes the link to the printable. Let me know if you did all that and it still didn’t show up! I’d be happy to send it to you. 🙂

Hey, I know it is TECHNICALLY July, but I would love that bedding right now. Lol! I love the yellow popping out in different rooms you show. I was at a local KARM (Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries thrift store), which is pretty much how I decorated my whole apartment, and I saw these gaudy looking lamps. The shades were hideous, but the bases were these pretty sunshine yellow colors. I had been waiting for the “right” bedside table lamps. I work at a department store that does get in pretty lamps, and I do get a staff discount, but I thought it would be better to buy at the Karm because they feed the needy directly from the funds.

The yellow bases stuck out to me the whole time I browsed around, and I took them home, then bought two plain white drum shades for them. They are great next to the upholstered headboard (similar to yours), and I use a throw my Memaw had with the yellow in it to pull out some yellow for the bedroom, and a painting made has the yellow. I saved a little on the lamps, and you never would know I didn’t buy them just as they are now, with the shades.

The yellow in your home really brings the easy cottage-y charm! It is just the right shade, too! Lemony would give a different vibe, and the pastel yellow I think can be a color that would be different, too.

The bedroom is very pretty. The bedding does bring spring! I like soft colors in decorating, too. I think it is fun to throw in something vibrant at times in the more neutral look. I couldn’t do the all white, solid white look. Lol!
