Simple Farmhouse Style Entryway

Hey hey my favorite people! And happy Monday to you. How was your weekend?! I hope it was restful and full of happy things. We actually loaded up all the chickadees and went to a little antique show on Saturday morning. It was about a 45 minute drive from our house. but let me tell you–I was so excited to get out and about for a while. Since little Ava Pearl arrived we’ve been pretty low key around here with minimal excursions outside of the house, other than an occasional Target run. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s been really awesome to just relax and soak up all the baby snuggles with that sweet little peach, but I tend to get a little stir crazy if I stay home for too long. Anyone else?! It ended up being a lot of fun and it was good for us all to get out into civilization for a while. The antique show was awesome and I did find something pretty cool that I’m excited to show you guys soon. But for today’s post I thought it would be fun to share my simple farmhouse style entryway with you lovely people. It’s actually been a hot minute since I last shared this space and in that time it’s undergone a few changes. Plus I’ve added a few new purdy things that I’m excited to share with you guys! This spot is pretty small, which means it can be a bit challenging to style, so I like to keep it really simple and only use minimal decor. I’ve found that if I try to put too many things in this area it can quickly look too cluttered, which ain’t good!

See that black coat rack? I actually snagged that from Hobby Lobby earlier this summer. It was brown when I bought it and covered in this orange-y stuff that was meant to look like rust. I wasn’t digging it, so I just spray painted it black and voila! I removed the old hooks I had here before and replaced them with this rack. It was an easy switch, but I really love the change.

I told you guys a few weeks ago that I ordered this cute braided basket from Anthropologie. It was back ordered for weeks and weeks, but it finnnnnnally came. And let me just say–it was worth the wait. I am obsessed with this basket. I got the smaller size and I’m so glad I did because it fits perfectly here. It will definitely be hanging in our entryway from now on.

I found this antique chair at a yard sale many years ago. And if my memory is right, I think I paid just a few bucks for this. I adore this chair and it’s still one of my favorite yard sale finds everrrrrrrr.

That old wooden crate is a new yard sale find I picked up earlier this summer. Isn’t that little guy cute?! I have a bigger one, it’s actually about twice this size, but I love how small this one is. It fits perfectly under this chair and it’s a great spot for purdy things like old books and some faux flowers.

This entryway space has changed so much over the past year. If you’ve been around for a while you might remember how we transformed this empty wall space into functioning entryway in just a few hours. Definitely hop over to this post if you want to see how we did it. It was seriously such an easy project, but it made a ginormous difference. And now it’s so fun to have a little entryway to play around with and decorate with cute things. I just love the simplicity of this look with my new braided basket, the antique chair, wooden crate, and all the old books. Simple and easy for the win!

That’s it for me today peeps. Thanks so much for stopping by the blog–now go have a fabulous week!

PS: The braided basket just sold out–total bummer, I know–but if you’re interested in a similar style hanging basket or tote for your entryway check out these options:

Love that look Sarah and that box is similar to one I’ve just picked up that houses kindling for the fire. Useful boxes that can get moved around are definite keepers in my book!x

I love this entryway! Can you tell me the size of the little hanging mirror? The link below brings me to one that is at Target, but it measures 31×19 and that seemed a little big.
    Thank you!
