Reading Nook Spring Refresh
Is it really May 1st today?! You wouldn’t know it looking around here in Colorado because the past couple of days have been cold and snowy. Yes, SNOWY. Seriously, winter never ends here you guys. And because of that I spent a decent amount of time last night looking at property in warm states like Texas. Yep, I’m ready to move. Just gotta convince the rest of my family! Anyway, today I wanted to share a fun little spring refresh I just did in our reading nook. I was actually getting the itch to make some changes in our living room, so I ordered a few things from the brand new Drew Barrymore home decor collection at Walmart. (Remember when I shared my picks form the line a few weeks ago in this post?!) Well I fell in love with it all and I’m excited to show you guys now I spruced up our nook with a few of her pieces!

If this nook doesn’t say SPRING then I don’t know what does. Isn’t it a happy little space?! And I have to admit, I’ve been loving more color in our home lately, which is kinda strange because you guys know I’m a neutral-loving kinda gal. But for whatever reason I’ve been really enjoying pops of color. Those floral pillows caught my eye right away and I love how they brighten up this spot. Plus they have a vintage-y vibe too!

Next I ordered this cute set of four botanical prints. (Yes, my obsession continues!) I spotted these right away and I love how they come in those simple wooden frames. I thought they’d be the perfect fit for our nook and I was so happy to see that all four of them fit perfectly in here.

Lastly I couldn’t resist this gorgeous rattan pendant. Isn’t that so cool?! I’ve been wanting to hang a pendant in this space for a while now and I’m so happy we finally figured out a way to do it. I absolutely LOVE this light and I think it’s a total steal for less than $75. See it here.

I always love sharing our little reading nook because it’s one of my favorite spots in our home. And it was so fun to give this space a little spring makeover with finds from the Drew Barrymore home collection at Walmart. I feel like it has such a charming, eclectic feel now and I’m loving how all of these finds came together.
So happy you could stop by the ol’ blog today!! I always appreciate it when you spend part of your day here with me. xoxo

Really pretty Sarah. Everything looks so good together. I always loved your reading nook the way it was, but the change for spring is perfect! We had snow last sat. and sun. I want some more of those beautiful spring days. Warm breeses no humidity. Guess it will come one of these days. Take care sweet girl!💕💞💜💗🌷

Sarah! I love your refresh! So pretty and serene. I’d like to curl up in there.
I do have a qeustion. I’m wondering hoe you were able to remove your 2 black barn lights that were in there? Were those “working” lights? You have the shiplap behind them so I’m curious how you got them down w/out disrupting the shiplap.
Love your blog and your sweet heart!

I love the coral pink shade with the creams…I too love looking at neutral room pics but can’t bring myself to drop colors out of decor. In my design work allowing the neutrals to be larger with accents of color works for me. Especially since I love red and pastel yellow! Lol
I love your rattan pendant…reminds me of a bee 🐝 hive shape, which says spring for sure! Texas huh? It is definitely hot there, and I can sympathize with you being done with the cold. Do you have family in Colorado? Hard to leave family behind, but being a pioneer seeking new adventures has been an age old theme in America. How exciting to be able to consider it. Have you seen the new The Joyful Life magazine? Full of lots of spiritual encouragement, home, and family articles. It’s a quarterly magazine written by women who love the Lord. I have gleaned so much from this first issue I ordered. Encourages moms, and all women. And it’s beautiful created. A great coffee table magazine. Quality stuff, in every way. Thanks for your continued work on your blog. You are an extraordinary woman Sarah, God bless you!!! 🙏🏻❤️

I always enjoy seeing your ideas! We tend to have the same taste, but then you also throw in some new ideas for decor, that I thoroughly enjoy looking at. Thanks for the inspirations as I scroll through your blogs, while having my morning coffee! I love to see what you come up with for decor & clothes finds.
