Dang, I can’t believe it’s already time for another monthly favorites post! April was jam packed with lots of fun and exciting things, like Easter with the kids, my first ever collection launch with Cloth & Cabin, and the day I got to take over the LikeToKnowIt Home account on IG. All in all it was pretty darn awesome and now we’re officially into May, which is one of my favorite months of the whole year. My little guy’s birthday is coming up, Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and HOPEFULLY warmer weather is headed for Colorado. I’m ready for it all! Anyway, today I wanted to share a roundup of some favorites from the month. I also wanted to chat about a few changes that have been on my heart lately.
I’ve been LIVING in my Levi’s jeans all month long. Really, I have to keep myself from wearing these every single day. They are SO darn comfortable. This is my second pair and they’re worth every penny. These are the same 721 jeans, the distressing is just slightly different. Also loving this tote and these sandals. Camo shirt linked here.
My Favorites + New Discoveries this Month
- The very best no show socks–these actually stay on your feet!
- My Hoover cordless vacuum. I’ve raved about this thing a lot lately on IG and it’s one of my favorite household told ever. I use this at least 3 times a day. No more sweeping!
- These cute vintage inspired postcards.
- Favorite easy dinner recipe. I made these 3 times this month!
- This nail polish in the shade Be There in a Prosecco. It’s the perfect creamy color. SO pretty!
- This TED talk is amazing if you need a kick in the pants/motivation to get fired up about life. This one on the 5 Second Rule is also really great too.
- This gorgeous, dreamy mirror.
- Tula’s new Major Glow Cooling & Brightening Mask. This mast just laucnhed in April and it’s SO good. It gives your skin a glowy, fresh look without making it feel greasy. The mask is really luxurious and definitely feels like something you’d get at a fancy spa. My coupon SARAHJOY is good for 20% off the entire Tula site.
- After three and a half years, I finally updated my free Craigslist chairs in the dining room with these black vintage inspired chairs. I planned to do a whole post about them, unfortuatnely that didn’t happen. But I’m LOVING these chairs so much and I think they’re a great deal for the price–set come in a set of two. I also got a set of the matching armchairs for the ends of the table.

Slowing Down + A New Schedule
You guys know I have poured my whole heart into this blog for 3.5 years now. It has been and continues to be my happy place. It’s what I LOVE doing and I’m so grateful for all the ways this blog (and all of you!) have blessed my life over these past few years. But for a while now I’ve struggled to keep up with things like I wish I could. Posting three times a week has been challenging, especially with two of my little ones still at home with me full time. But I’ve resisted making any changes to my posting schedule because I never wanted to let any of you down. I ALWAYS wanted to show up every single week with three fresh blog posts, no matter what it took, and I never budged on that. But last weekend I realized I have to slow down. I need to slow down in this precious season of life before it passes by. And with summer quickly approaching, I want to free up more time in my schedule for my family. So starting now, I’m going to let go of the MWF routine for a more relaxed posting schedule. I’m going with the flow from now, which means some weeks I might blog twice a week and sometimes I might only get in once a week. I honestly don’t have a set plan and that’s what I’m really excited about right now. All I know is I want a slower pace.
I wanted to share this news with you all today to give you a heads up about what my summer plans look like for the next few months. I still have lots of fun ideas and posts to share, so things will keep rollin’ here, just on more of a relaxed schedule! I know most of you totally understand how hard it is to balance mom life and all the things, so thank you for the continuous support and encouragement–you all know how much it means to me! xo
IN THIS POST:
Good for you, Sarah. Your family must be your priority, always. Children grow up so so fast, and with a blink of an eye, they are grown and on their own. Cherish your time with them now. Will always look forward to your blog.
Amen to that Belinda. Time goes way too fast! Soaking it in while I can!

I love those chairs!
Also, where is your dining room rug from??
Thx
thank Pam, that rug is an older one from Pier 1.
You are very wise Sarah! Time with your precious family is most important. I just celebrated my 51st yesterday and my sweet boys (27 & 25, along with his beautiful wife) made me dinner last night. Even though I was a stay at home mom, it seems like yesterday that we were playing in the backyard. God is so good and he cares so much for you that he has put this on your heart. He has great plans for each and every one of us (Jeremiah 29:11) God bless you and your family! 💗
Thank you so much Teresa! You’re right–God put this on my heart and I need to listen. It’s hard to slow down sometimes, because I LOVE blogging, but I know I won’t get any do-overs with this time while the kids are little. xo
Good for you for realizing what’s most important. I’ll miss seeing you as much, but I totally get it. I’ve been amazed at how you have been doing it up to this point.
thank you Lynn, I’m actually kind of amazed too! It’s been a lot, but I LOVE it.
You don’t get “do overs” with your time so go with what is the most important! I enjoy reading about your life and respect your choices, blessings💕
Thanks Mary! I completely agree–we don’t get do-overs in life. xoxo
Great decision, my “little” girl just turned 22!!!!! Time waits for no one.
Oh wow. You’re right–time def doesn’t wait!
Glad to hear you’re slowing down. Life goes way too fast. One day you’ll turn around and wonder how 30 years went by so quickly. Blessings on your family time.
Oh I know it, I can’t believe how fast the last few years have gone. Thank you for the support Jeannie!
I agree with the others, and look forward to seeing your name pop up now and then. Enjoy the summer with your little ones! GOD Bless you and your family!
thank you so much sweet Sally!!
Dear Sarah, I totally understand the fact that you need to slow down. I’ve seen that you needed to do this for awhile now and I’m so glad you made this important decision. I blogged for 5 years and due to health problems finally went just to IG. It’s hard because of all the friends you make but I found that the true friends follow you anywhere. Enjoy those little ones while you can. Mine are grown with babes of their own and I really miss the sticky hands and messes they use to make. Thank you for brightening my life through your post here and on IG. Have a very happy day!
xoxo Jo
aw Jo, thank you so much! You made me tear up a bit with your comment. Trying to enjoy those sticky little hands and messes while I can. It goes way too fast for sure. I appreciate all your support so much!
your so inspiring! small things, big things, style, and a busy momma! go girl!
thank you Niki!! xo
God speed my sweet friend. Sometimes in life hard choices have to be made. You have chosen wisely. I will miss you, but I will still look forward to reading your blog, whenever it appears in my inbox. Enjoy your summer with your beautiful family, it does go by too quickly. Your devoted reader and friend, Angela 💕 xoxo
thank you so much Angela!! I appreciate all your support so much xoxo
As a fellow blogger and busy mama, I totally get it! I’ve slowed down to one post a week because that’s all I can handle right now without going insane or spending every free moment blogging. To my surprise, traffic has actually gone up!
Wow that’s good to hear Chelsea! Hoping the same things happens to my traffic! 🙂
Yes!! 🙌🏼 It is crazy how fast the kiddos grow up (especially when we get busy with other things). Enjoy this slower season!
-Hillary
than you Hillary! xo
I TOTALLY get the need to SLOW DOWN, all my kids are out of the house but I still work full-time and am VERY active in my church and my kids and NINE grandchildren’s lives. Sometimes I wonder how in the world did I raise 4 children because I am SO busy now. Retirement is around the corner for me (2 years) and I can’t wait to see that season in my life to be able to keep a slower pace. I LOVE ALL of your posts but am so glad you see family as your NUMBER ONE.
thank you Debbie! I’m excited for a slower pace. And congrats on being so close to retirement, that is awesome!
Sweet Sarah Joy….
What a hard but good decision you are making. I think all your followers will also be able to slow down too, so you’re gifting ⏰ time to us too! I’m sure many, like yourself, are just as busy and don’t want to miss out on your posts too.
We all feel that “hurried up lifestyle” ⏳ at one point or another, slowing down is the cure. Enjoy the slow 🐌 and making memories with your littles. 💝💝💝 It’s the fun times your kids take with you when they leave home 🏠 so have lots of fun! You’re a wise, giving young woman, and God has so much planned for you that lies ahead 🙏🏻 Trust His timing, and He will direct your path. Blessings on you lil momma! ❤️
thank you so much Faith! You are so right and I definitely think slowing down could benefit us all. I really appreciate your support!
If there’s anyone who doesn’t understand this Sarah, they must not be a mom! You’re so right about how fast time goes by and our little ones grow so fast!! Cherish every moment with your sweet family and those of us who truly support and love you will always be here with you and for you! 🥰
thank you so much sweet Melissa! I really appreciate all your kindness and support. xoxo
Good for you! I don’t blame you at all. Time flies. Enjoy those babes because they grow up fast. ❤️
thank you Kim!
I am standing up and applauding your decision to make your family a priority ….over everything! I respect and admire any mother who makes her family and children a priority-! I do so enjoy your posts and your blog, and when they come from a place fulfillment and contentment, it only makes everything better, Enjoy your summer – I will enjoy whatever posts you are able to create !
thank you so much Kristine! I really appreciate all your support. xoxo
Good on you Sarah, enjoy time with your Children and your Husband. Family life was always a priority when my 3 sons were younger, now they are in their late 30’s and all live far away from where we live, and we rarely see them, as they have their own families etc. We cherish the memories of their early lives and are so glad that we have them.
Thank you for that Lyn, the times goes so fast–I def want to soak it in as much as possible!
Sarah
Bless you for being wise. Wisdom is from the Lord. At 58 years old, 2 daughters, 31 and 35, my best advise….take the time NOW!!!!! It will be over before you know it. Enjoy this amazing season! I look forward to any post, any time😀
thank you for that Cynthia, I’m trying to soak it in!!
Good for you! Family time is everything!! Enjoy every minute!
thank you so much Wendy!
I Love your taste in clothes, home decor.thr whole bit! So I am so excited to be getting the News Letter. I just wanted to say that I don’t have children my self but I have helped my Best Friend with her 2 children & can I just say it’s a lot of work, but well worth it! I know I am new to this but in my opinion I think you should take all the time you need this Time Only Comes Around Once & It’s gone as they say so you go girl !!!
thanks so much Debra, I really appreciate your support. And you’re right–this time only comes around once!
You have no need to stress about letting people down etc for posting less than you currently do. Life is for living – enjoy the extra time with your family!
Aw thank you so much Julie!! xo
Sarah, I love your choice for family first.
When ever you post, I will enjoy it like a special letter, unexpectedly received in the mail.
You are appreciated.
Take care and enjoy.
Deborah
thanks SO much Deborah, I really appreciate your support. xoxo
Sarah I was just thinking of you today and your schedule! I wanted to let you know that I have appreciated your consistency however I feel as you wish is a great idea! Also wanted to give feedback on your posts that out of all the blogs I read I always read yours. Because you keep it to the point and not long posts! As summer comes for all of us we also will be having less time for reading blogs. Keep up the good work. Also I appreciate how you have a variety of topics. Keeping it simple. Thank you for bringing me all this fun and inspiring info!
Wow Nichole, thank you so much. I really appreciate that!!
