New Cozy Reading Spot

Wow, wow, wooooooow. You guys, the past few days have been SO much fun. I’m pretty sure I spent all of Tuesday smiling and jumping around like a crazy lady over the Warm Caramel Crumble launch. It was definitely one of the coolest days ever. Thank you all SO MUCH for joining in on the excitement with me. I am so grateful for this community. You guys are the BEST! And I hope you all love the candle as much as I do! For today’s post I wanted to share a cozy little reading spot I just put together a few days ago. This is actually down in our basement right next to my home office space, which I shared last week!

So cozy, right?! I adore this little space and I’m so happy to have such a comfortable spot right next to my desk. I’ve been using this area a lot more since the kids started back in school, so it’s really nice to have a cozy chair to sit in when I need a break from the desk.

I’ve actually been eyeing this accent chair for a while now. It’s from Walmart and I have to say I am very impressed with the quality. You guys know how much I LOVE my Wal-Mart recliners and this chair is on par with that. It’s a bit smaller than our recliners, but it really is perfect for a little reading corner like this. And I love using my old vintage fan crate in this space. If you’ve been around for a while you might remember when we converted that into a side table. It was such a fun project! I styled it with a few old books, candle, and this adorable little lamp.

The round jute rug is also another great affordable find. It’s from the new Drew Barrymore collection and I’m in love with it! I seem to have a thing for round rugs lately–they’re just so fun and I love how they can be used in lots of small spaces! This one is five feet, but there is also an eight foot option too.

One of my favorite things to do in our home is make cozy spots from little corners that often get overlooked. It really doesn’t take much room at all to make a reading corner like this one. This was just an empty space after I moved my desk to the other wall, but now it’s a very welcoming, happy spot. Plus I kinda feel like this ties everything together now. It feels more like a real office, right? Or at least kinda sorta?!

Thank you so much for dropping by the blog today. I always appreciate when you spend part of your day here with me!! xoxo

Love your new reading spot! You continue to amaze me with all you have done and continue to do in your home.
By the way, I followed your idea about putting an old picture frame backing on my letter board. It works perfectly! Thanks!
    Have a great day.

Lovely…but what does your husband think of all this staging? Do you all feel that everything has to be perfect all the time? It looks that way…

oh no, definitely not! I’m sitting in our living room right now and it’s covered in toys, a basket full of laundry I need to fold, and dirty dishes. I just clean up for photos but it definitely does NOT look like that around here most of the time.

Any ideas for a boring plain wall above the bed. It’s a slated sleigh bed . So it’s not just a mattress up against the wall

    Thx
