Let’s Try This Again–New Dining Chairs in Breakfast Nook!

Well after several weeks of trying (and failing) to find the perfect dining chairs for our breakfast nook, I *think* I finally did it. I returned the black chairs from Target that I shared in this post and I spent more time than I’d like to admit searching for their replacement. I looked online at pretty much every store out there and ultimately settled on something totally unexpected. I never would have imagined these chairs in my breakfast nook, but as soon as I saw them I fell in love. Come seeeeeeeee!

Minty green for the win!! I know they’re probably not for everyone, but I was practically giddy when I saw these chairs online. I just love adding in pops of color and this is the perfect shade of soft green. The color actually reminds me of the herringbone wall in my office! I love how they soften this space compared to the black chairs I had in here before.

This wooden bench was actually something I already had on hand. I’ve had it for a few years now, but it had a dark stain so I sanded it down to give it a softer look. I LOVE how it turned out and I think it compliments the chairs perfectly! Plus it’s just so handy to have a bench in this spot for the kids. This little breakfast nook feels SO much more light and airy now. I just love the fun pop of color happening here and best of all, these chairs are super comfortable! The high back is perfect. Anyway, I’m so glad I decided to return the black chairs and make this change. This space feels right!

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog. I’d love to hear what you think!! xoxo

Beautiful choice for the chairs. It kind of pulls in the wallpaper colors from your dining room. One comment on the bench, I would paint it the same color as the table. Let’s the chairs and floor remain the center of attention. Love your style.

  25. I absolutely think they are perfect. Have you maybe considered an indoor/outdoor rug under the table that is mostly light in color with some green and black accent colors in it? They wipe up like a dream with a soapy dishcloth if the kids spill food on them. You can even take them outside and hose them down and let them dry in the sun good as new. Just a thought…love everything you do!

    • Sarah wrote:

I have thought about putting a rug there, but it’s just so much easier to vacuum up all the crumbs each day (honestly after each meal with 3 kids!). It just gets way too messy with our crew!

  40. These green chairs are much better in my opinion. I didn’t like the shorter black option at all. I prefer my chair backs to be higher than the table. I would personally use all chairs and forego the bench. But it does coordinate nicely with the light fixture.

These mint chairs suit the spot wonderfully! I think there is something so nice for aiming at a softly harmonious look and it very much reminds me of the chairs my grandmother had around her old table, and I mean in a very good way. Time worn, southern, nostalgic, and sweet chairs. I love those! Sweet seems true to your vibe and style!
