Simple Farmhouse Style Dining Room

I don’t know about you, but the longer this quarantine goes on the more I’m starting to appreciate all the things I took for granted before this happened. Like going to the movies, hanging out with family and friends, watching my kids play sports, and simple trips to town. I’m also starting to learn a lot about myself. I know that probably sounds weird, but all this down time definitely gives you a chance to do some major self-reflecting. It’s been an interesting couple of weeks to say the least, but I hope you guys are hanging in there. Enjoy the good days, give yourself grace on the hard days, and pray as much as you can. That’s how I’m getting through all this craziness! Anyway, today I wanted to share our simple farmhouse style dining room. I just moved my beloved antique cabinet to the other end of the room and I love the new look. Hopefully this gives you a few ideas for your own home or at least distracts you for a little bit!

I found this antique cabinet a few years ago for super cheap. If I remember right it was around $100, which was a total steal. Plus it was already painted white! I just moved it to this other corner of the dining room and I’m loving how it looks in this spot. It’s such a fun piece and I always enjoy styling those little shelves.

I did my usual farmhouse style decor in this cabinet–lots of white dishes, a few vintage scales I’ve found over the years, and a little faux greenery. I like to keep it super simple and easy! And in case you’re wondering, my dining table is from Arhaus and the chairs are from Wayfair, but unfortunately they’re not sold anymore.

If you’re getting stir crazy and looking for things to do, I highly recommend putting some music on and rearranging a few rooms in your home. It won’t cost you a dime and you’ll get a decent amount of entertainment in the process. Plus you’ll end up with a snazzy new room that will feel brand new! And it’s much more fun to quarantine in a room that feels snazzy. Trust me.

Thanks so much for hanging out with me today. I hope my blog gives you a little break from what’s happening in the world right now. And if you have any posts you’d like to see in the coming weeks be sure to let me know. I’d love to hear it. Sending big hugs to youuuuuu. xo

Your corner cabinet/hutch looks great! I love that you ‘shop your house’ and find new ways to decorate.
I have a cabinet similar to yours, a bit bigger. It was built by my great-grandfather in the late 1800’s, so it is very special to me! It warms my heart to see it every day!
    Pray, stay healthy and safe!

Your house always looks so amazing! Thank you for sharing you home, family, and self with us! I love rearranging what I already have, it makes it all feel new again! To help get me through this quarantine I am currently painting everything I see in the house with white chalk paint! lol So far I painted a bookshelf, a large ornate hanging shelf, and a few wood boxes. Thank you for your inspiration and uplifting words! God bless, stay home, safe, and healthy!

I have always loved those corner pieces. Never owned one but I’m envious (forgive me Lord) of people who have them! Such charm! Beautiful redo…and I agree, this situation is exposing a lot about who we are, how tough we are and as a nation how we can encourage each other. I have friends who drove to other friends houses with I MISS YOU signs they made and talked from their car to the friends on the front lawn. Visit from a distance when the sun is out and stay in touch! Kids can make signs! Hold them out the window…and smile! 😬😜❤️🙏🏻🇺🇸
