Well hellllllo there and happy Wednesday to you!! I’m actually really excited for today’s post because I’m chatting about all about working out at home. I have been avid workout-at-home-gal for a long time now, but ever since moving to the country last summer it’s basically the only option I have. It just doesn’t make sense for me to make the drive to a gym. Plus then I’d have to drive by Target, in which case I’d probably get distracted and want to go in, then I’d never make it to the gym. See the dilemma here?! Anyway, I’ve created a pretty good little workout schedule for myself lately so I wanted to share what I’ve been doing.
Lately I’ve tried to stay super consistent with working out at home Monday through Friday, then taking the weekends off. I’ve also found that if I have a set schedule, I’m much more likely to stick with it. It’s probably silly, but in a weird way the schedule keeps me accountable. I don’t want to miss checking one of my workouts off my list! I also have to work out first thing in the morning or else it’s really tough for me to find time to do it later in the day. Anyway, here is my current at home workout routine:
Monday: 45 minute MYX bike ride. This is my hardest workout of the week. I like to get it over with ASAP.
Tuesday: Strength workout on YouTube. There’s tons and tons of free workouts on YouTube! I personally love Heather Robertson videos.
Wednesday: 30 minute MYX bike ride
Thursday: 40 minute kettlebell workout (this one is really good!)
Friday: Usually by Friday I’m ready to be done working out at home! That’s my hardest day to find the energy to get it done. Lately I’ve been doing a 20 minute MYX ride. I found one that is super hard and torches a ton of calories in a short amount of time.
Saturday + Sunday: REST. Go on walks. Be outside as much as possible.
I’ve had my MYX bike for several months now and I honestly LOVE it. I really wanted a Peloton, but this was a more affordable option. Plus I wasn’t sure how much I’d stick with it, so I didn’t want to invest a ton of money. Anyway, I’ve really enjoyed it. Even my husband uses it! (My favorite instructor is Miriam–I love her endurance and hill rides!) I can do a full review on the MYX bike if you guys are interested in seeing that kind of post.
Workout Gear:
Most of my workout gear is cheap stuff from Target or Amazon Essentials (they have tons of great workout clothes!), but I did want to mention these shoes. I’ve had them over two years now and they are still in great shape!! And they’re finally on Amazon. I highly recommend them if you need a great pair of exercise shoes–they’re great for running too. Also the fit is true to size.

I also love this water bottle! It’s a little obnoxious because it’s so huge, but I literally take it with me everywhere. And after I do any workout, I like to drink this electrolyte mix in my water–I just add one scoop. I’ll also drink this on weekend too just because it really helps with energy. Anyway, this little working out at home routine will probably change in the future, but this is what’s working for me right now! I’d love to hear if you do any awesome at home workouts. I’m always interested in trying new things!
Sarah, thank you for this. You are remarkable in every way and we are all blessed to follow your blog. Thinking about getting the bike now!
Have a great day!
OH my heavens Tricia, you’re the sweetest!! Thank you so much for your kind words. Means so much to me! xo
Which MYX bike do you have? The plus or the regular?
I got the plus, it came with all the weights!
I’d LOVE to see a review of your bike! I’ve always been a beachbody person, but now that myx and beachbody are working together I’m curious about getting into cycling/spinning. 🙂
I love beach body too! I am big fan of the Shaun T workouts–I used to do those all the time. Can’t wait to see what they come up with for MYX!
