The Craziest Cabinet Transformation

One of my favorite things in this house is the big built-in cabinet in our breakfast nook area–it’s amazing and holds SO much stuff. But to be honest, I’ve never been super crazy about the mirrors and X’s. To me, they made the cabinet look dated and a little busy. So last weekend I go the nerve up to pop them out. Yep, I did it! Thankfully my dad is in the glass business, so he was able to quickly cut me glass panels to replace the mirrors and I can’t get over how much better it looks. This before and after is CRAZZZZZZY. Here’s how it looked before:

Here’s how it looked without the mirrors! After I had all of those out, along with the wooden X’s, I decided to add beadboard wallpaper to the back of the cabinet just to spruce it up a bit.

Here’s the finished look:

This change completely transformed the entire look of this cabinet. It just feels more classic and timeless with the simple clear glass instead of the mirror and X’s. Plus now I get to style these shelves with all my little finds! And I have to say, this is probably one of the easiest DIY projects I’ve ever done but the payoff was HUGE. What do you think of this change?!

This dining table is from a local store so I can’t link it, and the dining chairs are from Article but no longer sold. I linked up similar options and other decor here.
