Happppppy Monday!! It’s officially outdoor decor week here on the blog!! Cue the happy dance. I’ve been so excited to start sharing easy outdoor decorating ideas with you all, so I figured why not just kick off the summer season with a full week of outdoor spaces. I know we’re not technically to summer just yet, but we’re getting soooo close. And this is truly my favorite time of year–the grass is green, the birds start singing early in the morning, and the sun shines brighter than ever. I love it all! I have lots of great outdoor content coming your way every single day this week, so I hope you’re as excited as I am. First up today is our summer outdoor patio. I actually just re-arranged this entire area over the weekend and it all looks SO GOOD. I can’t wait for you to see it!
Summer Patio Decor
We used to have our outdoor dining table in this space, but I thought it might be fun to do a little switcheroo and move this patio set here instead. It actually makes way more sense because this area gets lots of shade in the summer months–it’s perfect for lounging all day! (By the way, this patio set is an old one from Wayfair.) Plus when it rains this area is covered, so I don’t have to worry about the decor and furniture getting wet.
This hanging chair has been one of my favorite finds ever! I bought it last year and I can’t even tell you how much time I spent sitting in that spot last summer, just enjoying the view. I absolutely LOVE it. This one is from Target, but unfortunately it’s sold out. (Here’s a very similar hanging chair.) And if you’re wondering about the curtains, they’re from Amazon. They’re not outdoor curtains, but I had these in storage so we just did a simple little nylon “curtain rod” to hang them. These are 95″ panels. So easy!
Pretty much everything in this summer patio is decor or furniture I already had on hand, which was SO nice. All I bought new for this space was the pretty blue and white striped pillows and that white ceramic lantern.
Well I hope this post gives you a few outdoor decorating ideas for your own home this summer. And as always, thanks so much for dropping by the blog today. I truly appreciate it when you stop by. I’ll be back tomorrow with more outdoor decorating! xoxo
I love the change up. That space looks so pretty! I bought that blue striped pillow and (matching) pouf for my patio this year.
So cool you got the same pillows, Ruth. I didn’t see the pouf, but I bet it’s super cute!
Your patio looks so inviting! Thanks for sharing! Where should I look for outdoor furniture cushions?
Thanks Deb! For outdoor cushions I’d look at Walmart online. Those will be the most affordable! Target also has some great options too. And Home Depot!
I love your patio! Very cozy indeed! Can you share where you bought the little String of lamps above ! They don’t look the same as the photos listed in Shop the Post. Thank you!
Hi Christine, those string lights are from Target last year. I looked and it doesn’t look like they are sold anymore 🙁 so I linked some similar options!
Thank you!!
Love this space! I have an area that could also use curtains. When you say a nylon curtain rod is it just a rope of some kind? If so where did you get it? Love your posts. Have gotten so many ideas over the years from it.🙂
This is what we used! https://rstyle.me/+bDg_-KIKTZCREGF7TxfFkQ
It’s just a nylon tree strap that we screwed to the posts!
Love the look!!! Do u leave all your pillows and throws out all the time or have to take them in.
I leave them all out most of the time, unless I know a big storm is coming. This area is covered so it does well in rain!
Very nice! Would love to sit and have a cup of coffee with you!!! Thanks for sharing.
Love the outdoors curtain idea! The wind in my part of CO is insane during the afternoon but it would be perfect for my mornings to help block that ☀️ sunshine! Love the hanging chair too and really regretting not getting the one I seen at Walmart last summer!
Hi! Fairly new to your site. Loving it! Your patio looks so pretty and comfy! I am in Oregon and it’s still raining off and on here. So anxious to set up my back deck furniture and decos!!
so happy to have you here Beth!! Hope you can set up your deck soon!
I absolutely love it. It is so cozy, warm and inviting. I love all the textures and most of all that you used things that you already had. It’s definitely a place that I would spend my summer days and nights. Beautiful space.❤️😍👍🏻
hank you so much Debbie!! xoxo
With a yard like that why would you want to move? And that view!!
Good question. I’m actually wondering that myself Susan!
