Helllllllo there and happy Tuesday to you! I hope your week is off to a fabulous start. It’s been super busy over here with lots of little projects going on, but last week I got the unexpected opportunity to purchase the oven of my dreams. Yes, I said OVEN. I know that’s not really a common phrase, I mean what weirdo dreams about ovens, but really–this thing is dreamy. I can’t wait to share it with you guys today and also chat about the crazy way we got it. Also I have a great tip for buying appliances!
Isn’t she a beaut?! This is the Cafe double oven with french doors. I am SMITTEN. I actually saw this exact oven when we bought our Cafe refrigerator last summer. The store had it on display and I can remember standing there, basically drooling over this oven. I never imagined she’d be in my kitchen!
So I have to share the story of how we got this oven. Last week, I called the appliance store with a question about our refrigerator. We got to talking about the Cafe line and I brought up the double oven. I asked if they were still selling them and how long it would take to get one, IF I ever decided to order. He said it takes at least four to five months for most appliances to come in these days, BUT they still had a floor model that he might be able to sell me. Immediately my ears perked up. I told him I was definitely interested, IF they could get me a good deal. He also shared that this particular double oven was now discontinued (Cafe is doing away with the knobs for a touch screen) so he thought he could get me an even better deal. He told me he needed to talk with the manager and he’d call me back. Finally the next day, he called and said he could definitely sell me the floor model at a reduced price, AND give me an additional discount because of it being discontinued! I almost peed my pants right then and there.
The funny thing about this story is that my Cafe refrigerator is also a floor model, which we also got for a great deal! We’ve saved a LOT of money on these appliances that way over the years and so that’s my tip for you today–always ask to buy the floor model! If it looks good, with no obvious damage, you could really get a bargain. Also if you find out an appliance has been discontinued, you might get an even better deal!
One last tip would be to definitely get the insurance and warranty that are available with the appliance. That’s what we’ve done with both of these, especially since they were they floor models. That extra protection is worth it!
Sorry for all the rambling today, but thanks for stopping by the blog. I’d love to hear what you think of the new oven. xo
Love the style of your oven and fridge. Youโre home is beautiful! Thanks for the tips!!
Sarah,
I love your excitement over your new appliances. I like cafe appliances too.
So fun to see how you are personalizing your beautiful home.
I look forward to watching you transform your home. You are doing a great job.
Love it Sarah, looks perfect. Did you put your granite in, or was it already in your house when you bought? Iโm trying to decide if I want quartz or granite in my kitchen. And is that a pantry behind the double doors next to your oven? I need a memory refresh!!
This granite was already here when we moved in! But we had quartz at the old house. I really loved that too!
She’s BEAUTIFUL! If it’s weird to dream about appliances then I need professional help! ๐
hahah SAME!!
Sarah this oven finishes off your kitchen to perfection! I am not one to get excited over appliances, I usually buy basics. OK I am cheap lol. But this is a work of art and with your fridge it just blew me away. Itโs like it was the finishing touch on your beautiful kitchen.
You’re so right, it is basically like a work of art! Thank you Linda. xoxo
I LOVE your appliances!!! They are so unique and fresh looking!!!! Good job!!!
thank you so much Deanne!
I love it. Itโs beautiful. Matches your refrigerator perfectly.
Thank you Beth!! xo
LOVE THE OVEN!!! I would have peed my pants as well!! Hahaha. Enjoy years of fun baking!!!!
haha thank you Kim!!
Awesome! I never heard of or saw this brand appliance before. It’s the prettiest oven I have ever seen. I usually don’t get so excited over an oven but this one is truly special. It looks so pretty in your kitchen. Love and hugs, Angela
Haha I feel the same way, Angela! I don’t usually get excited over kitchen appliances but this one is so pretty!
I LOVE it – classy and gorgeous. But where is your microwave, or do you not have one? Just curious..
Good question! We don’t have one. We didn’t have one at the old house either. I never used it. We re-heat left overs in a toaster oven!
Wow! So beautiful! And I love the texture of the tiled backsplash. I think it would be so pretty to paint your island in the same green you did in your office!
Oh good idea!! One day I’d love to change the tops out for something more neutral, then pain the island a pop of color!
Wow! Thats a $6000 plus tax oven! My husband has a great job, and I work too but we would never spend that much on an oven, although it is beautiful.
We didn’t spend that much. That’d what I mentioned in the post–I bought the floor model and it’s being discontinued, so we got a really good deal.
It looks AMAZING! Seriously, I love how your entire kitchen comes together. Definitely #kitchengoals for me ๐
ah thank you so much Valerie! xo
Hi Sarah!
I am so happy for you to get the wall oven to match your firg at a great price. I also love them so much. I will remember that when I have to replace our appliances. I certainly always appreciate your tips.
Enjoy your oven, bake lots of cookies for me…lol
Thank you Candy! I’ll be baking lots of cookies in that oven, that’s for sure. xo
I have to admit I loved your old home and hated to see it go but you are doing such a great job making your new house a home. Love the appliances
oh thank you for that Vickie! I loved the old house too and some days I do miss it. But it’s been a lot of fun to make this place our home. Thank you for sticking with me all this time! xoxo
I have oven envy!!! Actually, I should say I have kitchen envy!!! I love what you have done with your new home ๐๐๐
Good Afternoon Sarah
I forgot to ask you yesterday, did you pick a paint colour on your cupboards to match your frig and ovens! They look so perfect or was it just a fluk that they matches. I love them so much
What color are your kitchen walls and cabinets?
Thank you. Beautiful Kitchen!
The walls are alabaster by Sherwin Williams! That’s the color in our whole house. And I’m not sure the exact color of the cabinets–sorry!
Hi!! Love your kitchen so much! I had a quick question because I actually have these appliances, and bought them years apart from each other because of the high price tag. Just got the double oven a couple weeks ago and the new handles donโt match my 2 year old fridge. I was wondering if you knew which color handles you have? Yours are what mine are. I thought mine were the brushed bronze that comes standard with the matte white but it must not be or they changed in the last 2 years. It might be the brushed copper?? Just curious if you knew. Thanks so much! I love your blog.
I love the white finish on this oven, but am deciding between the white or stainless finish for a new build. The salesman mentioned it’s hard to keep clean, and hard to match color with cabinets. I’d love for you to relay your experience if you get a chance. Thanks so much!
