How the heck is it already Thursday?! This week is flying by. And if you follow along over on IG stories, you might know we’ve been trying to get the kids a golden retriever puppy all week long. I use the word trying because we didn’t end up getting the puppy. Very long story short, it was sold to someone else. The kids are super bummed, but we’re hopeful we can find another one before it gets super cold out! Also I’m just pumped to finally be looking for a dog. The time has come! Anyway, today I thought it would be fun to share how our living room looks since we moved the big sectional up from the basement. I mentioned we did this little switcheroo a few weeks ago, but haven’t shared the finished look yet!
Doesn’t this sectional fit this space so much better than two sofas?! It’s actually kinda fun to see how drastically that switch changed the feel of this room. It feels SO much bigger now, but we basically still have the same amount of seating. I looooove it!!
Obviously I’m very into faux leather pillow covers lately! Am I over-doing it?! Probably, but I found this set on Amazon and I think they’re perfect for fall.
Also I have to rave about this accent chair. You guys, I ordered this from Walmart and I am blown away with how good it is. It’s almost the exactly color of my Pottery Barn recliner, super comfortable and only $160 bucks. HIGHLY recommend if you need a good accent chair that doesn’t break the bank. See it here.
This white wood console table is one of my favorite pieces of furniture. It’s from World Market and currently on sale! The two lidded baskets are from Target.
I feel like it took me a solid year to figure this room out, but I finally got it. This layout is SO much better than what we had before, so I plan to keep it this way for a very long time.
Well I’d love to hear what you think of this new layout. And I hope it gives you a few ideas for your own home!! xo
ROOM SOURCES:
I would highly recommend a Great Pyrenees. They keep predators at bay, looove cats, don’t eat chickens and are beyond loveable. You might have to get furniture covers and a big comb (ha ha). But u won’t b sorry. Your home is adorable and I hope y’all find that special puppy soon.
thanks for the suggestion Susan, I’ve heard good things about a Great Pyrenees!
It’s lovely, practical and so inviting! As usual you done good!
I love your new living room look! Very timeless and easy to change the colors with the seasons! Love the new chair from Amazon; I might need to get one too! LOL Thanks for sharing!
Hi Sarah……I have been watching your website for at least 3 years. I loved your sweet other house and wondered why you moved to an area that looked so lonely . After watching what you and hubby have done during this past 9 months i can’t believe the changes and I love every thing you have done. Its a dream house and your family is beautiful and your HOME is gorgeous, sooooo cozy and so tastefully done. I wish i had your ideas, energy and your beauty. Best of all good things to you and the family and could i have one of those cute little chicks. LOL Sarah (yep same name and spelling)
It’s been so fun to see how far y’all have come since move in! I am SO impressed with the look the sectional gives!! Huge heart eyes!!! Can’t wait to see a puppy photographed in there haha!
What color paint are the walls?
It’s Alabaster by Sherwin Williams!
Shelters are full of loving animals who are desperate for forever homes. “ Never breed or buy, while shelter animals die “. Consider saving a doggy life, you will be glad you did. It’s absolutely heartbreaking how many Instagramers go to breeders for pets. While shelters are overwhelmed with crowding. Have a nice day.
Sarah where did u buy your sectional sofa they r so expensive now a days
Hi…I’m sorry but I’ve been dreading this day. So, here we go. I’m a dog person. I love dogs…probably more than people. Dogs, especially puppies are a LOT of work AND very destructive and dirty! You have the most perfect, clean house I’ve ever seen. I can’t imagine you being able to handle your house being tore up with dog hair all over it! My fear is once you realize how dirty dogs are, you will put it outside in a cage. I’m just being as blunt as possible…because I love dogs. PLEASE don’t get a dog unless you are 100% sure you can handle the mess. I have a pretty much all white and pink house and it’s covered in dog hair! It drives me crazy, but I love dogs more than a clean house. Just seriously think about it. Sorry and thank you. Hugs
Hey sweetie, just a quick note. I agree with you, your living room looks perfect. I love how you arranged and decorated it. Your furniture has found it’s home. perfection!! Love and hugs, Angela
Please rescue a dog if you can! So many great doggies would love your home and family!
You mentioned that you have been looking for a golden retriever puppy. I implore you to consider looking at dog shelters. I would also implore you to worry less about the kind and age of the dog and more about what dog seems to bond with your children. During the pandemic a lot of people got puppies. Then a lot of those people decided to take those dogs after a year to shelters when they went back to work. Now shelters are overcrowded with sweet and often young dogs who were abandoned after a year of attachment and just want a family to love them. All of my dogs have been from shelters, and I couldn’t imagine having sweeter or more loving dogs. Please just consider opening up your mind beyond a golden retriever from a breeder.
I was curious where your entry door is to this room.I am trying to find a new layout for my LR. Something similar would work I think. Not sure about traffic flow in my room. Your living room room is beautiful! Ps. Is there a tv in the room?
