Fall Decor in the Basement + New Layout!
Well, I did a thing this weekend. I convinced my husband to help me swap the sofas in the living room with the sectional in the basement. We basically flip-flopped the two spaces. And even though I almost broke my back in the process, I am SOOO happy we did it. Both rooms seems to flow a lot better now (especially the living room, which I’ll share soon!) and I’m honestly kicking myself for not trying this sooner. I’ve actually wanted to put the sectional upstairs for a long time now, so it’s really cool to finally see both of these spaces with new layouts. Today I wanted to share how the basement looks! I also added in a few pops of fall decor.
Such a fun change, right?! And I have to say, it really feels like this is a better layout for our basement. The two sofas work here perfectly, and I am LOVING having the sectional in the upstairs living room.
The whole time we were swapping out these sofas I kept thinking of all the times I’d re-arrange my bedroom when I was a kid. I used to LOVE changing the layout of my room, even when I was just in elementary school. And I’d even beg my mom to let me re-arrange our living room or re-decorate the mantle. Funny how those things we enjoyed when we were kids seem to stick with us forever, huh?
Thanks so much for hanging out on the blog today. I hope this post gives you an idea or two for your own home. And I’d love to hear what you think of this new setup. xoxo

I absolutely LOVE your style of decorating, Sarah! I am soooo ready to purchase new living room furniture. I painted our walls white and want to purchase neutral furniture. Would you please share where you purchased your couch and love seat? Thank you! Sue

I want to know how to have a tv that shows art on the wall!
Love your new basement. It’s a big space and the sofas fill it well (though I totally liked the other look too!)
Sarah
> JodyHi Jody! So upstairs we have a Samsung Frame TV, which will actually display artwork. It’s super cool! But I didn’t want to spend the money on another one for the basement, so I just find a cool National Geographic show and pause it on a pretty scene to make it look like art for a while!! haha kinda a fun little trick.

Sarah I love your design style. May I ask about your built in cabinets with the X on the door, the brand and the paint color. Great layout and are complimented by the shiplap.
