Life Update: New Beginnings

Well, judging by the title of this post you can probably tell I have some big news to share today. But to be honest, it’s kinda weird to even have this conversation because nothing has really happened yet, however we made a pretty big decision that I’m excited and a little nervous to share. If you follow along over on Instagram stories you already know what I’m about to say, but we are looking for a new house! It’s so crazy to even type out those words, but it’s true. We have thought and prayed about moving for a while now and we are finally ready to make it happen.

I know this probably sounds crazy and kinda shocking, especially considering how much I love our home, but in my heart I really feel like it’s time for us to move on to something new. We plan to stay in the same area, but the kids are getting bigger and we really need more space for them to grow. We’re all currently squished super tight upstairs, so I’d love to find something that would give the kids a bit more room. Plus we’ve always dreamed of having more land for the kids to roam. I grew up on a farm, raising chickens, riding four wheelers, and playing outside around the clock all summer long. I want that same childhood for my kiddos and it’s our dream to have a few more acres for them to run–and yes I want chickens! I seriously dream about having a cute little chicken coop.

I know it’s going to be super emotional when the time comes to leave this home I love so much, but I’m trusting God to take us in the right direction and I’m just really excited for this new adventure. I’m the dork that LOVES looking at Realtor and Zillow in my spare time, so I actually really enjoy this process. We’ve considered buying land and building a new house, but I kinda love the idea of getting another fixer upper and making it ours. I have truly loved the process of fixing up our home and I think it would be so fun to do it again.

We’ve been seriously looking at houses for months now and I’ve hesitated to share what’s been going on because I obviously have no clue what the future holds for us, so why even talk about it until something happens? But on other hand, I think it would be fun to include you all this adventure and at least let you know what we’re up to. And we even have an offer in on a house right now! We looked at it earlier this week and fell in love with it. It has TONS of potential (my mind is already racing with projects!), an awesome open layout, lots of natural light, and the outdoor space is great for the kids. We could actually have chickens. Eeek! We’re still waiting to hear back on our offer, but I’ll be sure to update you guys when and if things move forward.

I’m honestly so excited to take you all along on this new journey with us! You all feel like family and I think it’s going to be so much fun to share this next adventure. Thank you for being here!! xoxo

Welcome!! Happy to have you here. I started this blog in 2015 and since then it's been my happy place to share my love of home, easy decorating ideas, comfy outfits, and chats about Jesus.

So happy for you and your family. We raised our three sons on a farm and I can say there’s no better way to raise great kids. We also attended a small country church three times a week when we were not singing at another church. My husband, three sons ages 30 and 28(twins) and I, have been singing in a Bluegrass Gospel group for 20 years as of this spring. I can also says raising your kids to know the importance of getting saved and living for God, is THE best way to raise fine, godly children. God gets ALL the Glory!
I really enjoy your blog also.

Congratulations! Very excited for you, and look forward to you transforming your new house into your home. We’ve just recently moved into a new house, after leaving a home we lived in for 14 years. While it has been a ‘transition’, it has been well worth it….

I firmly believe the Lord will lead you where He wants you to be. My husband and I looked, made an offer on, and purchased a house in the matter of two months, and we were not planning to move! It all fell into place perfectly. We just closed on the sale of our other house this past week, and I have to say, it was not as hard as I thought it would be. I’m excited to see where this leads you!

Have you considered painting your cabinets with the new tile? The hue of the cabinets makes them appear dirty. A bright white maybe would really tie it together!
