I’m Making a Big Change!
You guys, I’m a little nervous to post this today, but so excited at the same time because I’m making a BIG change and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. See, for over a year now I have had a tug on my heart to change the name of my blog. It started right after the baby was born last year and it’s just been one of those things that keeps coming up over and over again. I’d think on it for a while, then always talk myself out of it. But over the past two months especially I’ve felt a constant pull to just go for it and make the change. To say I am nervous for this change would be a massive understatement, but I really feel like this is the direction God is leading me and I’m ready for this new journey. So I’m taking that leap my friends and GOING FOR IT. Today I am happy to announce that I am rebranding!
What is rebranding?
Now I know you’re probably wondering what in the heck “rebranding” even means. Well, it’s pretty simple actually. I’m simply changing my blog name from Little Vintage Nest to Sarah Joy Blog. All of my social channels, including Instagram, will switch over to @sarahjoyblog as well. However, I want to be clear: MY CONTENT WILL NOT CHANGE. I repeat, my content will not change. So please don’t worry about that. You will still see the same type of posts around here–DIY, decor, and of course our fixer upper journey– it’s just all under a shiny new blog name.
Why?
The next thing you’re probably wondering is WHY I’m doing this in the first place. Well, to be honest Little Vintage Nest has always felt a bit generic to me. It’s a name I literally chose in thirty seconds when I decided to start sharing our home and my projects on Instagram. I never would have dreamt in a million, trillion years that I would go on to start a blog. Not to mention one that people would actually read! I’ve been blessed beyond measure with all of your support and this little ol’ blog has grown in ways I never could have predicted. (I give God all the glory for that!) But over time, Little Vintage Nest just started to feel impersonal. And even though I love the name and it will always be special to me, it just didn’t feel like it fit anymore. I don’t want to be known as Little Vintage Nest. I want to be known as Sarah, which is the #1 reason I’m making this change.
The New Name
I chose Sarah Joy Blog simply because it’s my name. Joy was also my Granny’s name and it’s been passed down to many of the women in my family. And my mother, who you all know I am very close with, is named Joy–it’s actually her middle name. It’s part of my middle name as well, so there is lots of special meaning in the name for me.
What’s Next?
Today starts phase one of my rebrand, which begins with changing over my Instagram name to @sarahjoyblog. I will continue to do this with all of my social media channels as well. Phase two will be a really fun logo makeover and a little blog refresh. I’ll be changing the URL to www.sarahjoyblog.com and that will take place in the next couple of weeks. In the mean time, I’ll work on re-directing all of my links and getting things on the back end sorted out. I’m nervous as heck to make the URL change, but I’m praying that everything switches over smoothly so that anyone that tries to view www.sarahjoyblog.com will automatically be re-directed to the new URL. I know that’s a lot of mumbo-jumbo-techie-talk, but I want to keep you all in the loop. I’ll be sure to update everyone when phase two officially happens!
I want to thank you all for the support you’ve given me over these past few years. In December I’ll hit my three year blogging anniversary and I really can’t believe I’m still here blogging every single week. I honestly owe that to all of YOU! Truly, if it weren’t for your kind comments and continuous support I wouldn’t be doing this. I would have given up a looooooong time ago without you guys here.
So THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for standing by me through this journey and for always being so kind. And like I mentioned earlier, things won’t really change around here other than the blog name, so I sure hope you stick around. Here’s to exciting new adventures!

Yours was one of, if not THE first blog I ever subscribed to. I am so thrilled that you are choosing to stay current and fresh and that cannot be done without a little bit of pain at first. Kind of like changing your name after marriage, ha!
If one doesn’t stay current they get left behind. This is a good choice to do and a fabulous name. You will be fine.

Follow your heart and gut and don’t sweat it. I do online marketing for different industries. Companies regularly stress over the impact rebranding may have. Then afterward wish they had done it long ago. I’m certain it will go smoothly and you’ll be happy you did it!

HI Sarah, I have to say it was a bit of a shock about the news of you changing your blog name. I have always loved the name Little Vintage Nest and I do support you in the fact that the new name is near and dear to your heart. Although, the name has been changed now, I think that Sarah Joys Vintage Nest would have been an awesome name as I feel the name Vintage Nest makes me feel very warm and cozy and it kind of takes me back. However, I do support you in wherever your heart takes you!
Sarah
> Gina vanGreuningenThat would have been a good option too Gina!

Nancy
When God puts a burden (something that we can’t get off our minds) upon our hearts, we must follow it to be truly blessed. God can’t truly bless us until we hear His voice and follow it. He speaks to us through His word, though other people and through the Holy Spirit. Sarah, because you are walking in His ways, this blog has been and will continue to thrive! God bless you always.
Sarah
> NancyAmen to that, Nancy. And I couldn’t agree more. That’s how I knew it was time to make this change. I couldn’t find peace with NOT changing it. The time has come!
