You guys, I’m pretty darn proud of myself right now. Wanna know why? Because I finally, finally, finally hung a family photo gallery wall in our home. This is a project I’ve wanted to do for SO long, I just never got around to doing it. But I finally got my booty in gear and now I’m kicking myself for not doing it sooner because it was so dang easy. Really, the entire thing took less than thirty minutes. And best of all it turned out so good! We used this snazzy photo frame set from The Home Depot and I can’t wait to show you all how it looks and how we did it so fast. And hopefully this helps any of you that want to learn how to hang a photo gallery wall of your own. All righty, let’s hop into it. Here’s how the wall looked before:
And how it looks now with all our smiling faces:
Isn’t it so darn cute?! I love this so much and I can’t even tell you how happy I am to have this project crossed off my to-do list. And like I said, it was SO easy. The photo set we used actually came with a paper template that you just tape to the wall. This saved us a ton of time and made the task of hanging all the individual frames on the wall a total breeze. We just leveled the template to make sure it wasn’t crooked and then taped it to the wall. This was also great because it allowed me to see how the frames would look on this spot in our staircase.
Once we had it where we wanted it, we simply put screws in the wall (the template was marked to show where the screws should be placed for each frame) and that was it. We removed the paper template from the wall and started hanging the frames. BOOM. Photo gallery wall done.
I’ve been wanting to do a large scale family photo collage like this for so long now and I’m just happy this is finally done. The spot is perfect. And I can’t help but smile every time I walk down the stairs in the morning and see these happy photos. It’s my whole world in nine black frames.
I can’t get over how easy this gallery wall was to put together. I’ve always been intimidated by these type of photo collages, just because I thought it would be a hassle to hang each photo perfectly in straight lines. But that template made this so easy and so fast. I actually might do another photo gallery in our bedroom on the wall space above the bed. And I gotta say, I’m loving the fact that The Home Depot carries so much decor and furniture online now. They have a huge variety including things like wall decor, area rugs, modern farmhouse dining room decor, and bedroom furniture. You can even search by your personal style, which is super handy and makes shopping so much easier. And if you’re looking to do your own gallery wall, here’s a few other photos sets I love from The Home Depot:

How to Paint a Brick Fireplace
Love this. I have a gallery wall in my house, and I made my own paper templates to hang up before I put nails in the wall. I love how easy it is to just screw/nail through the paper and then tear it all down to hang the frames. Because of this trick, I’ve been more comfortable to hang more than one frame together (like two or three frames or pictures going down a wall) because I know exactly how it’s going to look before making any holes.
Love this!!!!
I love this idea!! So good to hear about the multiple templates from Home Depot🙂! I have a long hallway that I’ve been wanting to do but didn’t have the courage to tackle! Great solution…thanks!
Oh I love it, what a great idea. The template is genius.
I absolutely love the wall gallery! Ive been wanting to do one myself but havent gotten to it yet-ugh! Anyways, wondering if you thought about painting the wood colored part of your staircase black? My staircase has white spindles with a black railing. I think it would look it just stunning with your black frames and recent black accents!
I’ve never thought about that, might I think it could totally work!
Oh gosh, I love this!!!! And it sure does look easy. Thank you so much for sharing this, or I’d not ever known, and this project is now on my to-do list.☺
Yesssss Diana! Go for it. So easy!
I love the the the template they provided so you can easily hang the frames. Looks great !!
Me too Susan, it made this project SO darn easy.
What a difference that makes. Looks so easy, too. A great addition to your staircase.
*Smiles*
Thank you so much Pamela!
So I love this and this product is the exact thing I am looking for. Thank you so much for sharing. My question is it states the pics are 8×8. Are you just cropping and enlarging a standard camera image?
Yep, they are 8×8. I had them printed at Walgreens. Most places will print that size photo for same day pickup!
Looks fabulous!! 🙌🏻
Thank you Chris! xo
Love your photo gallery. Thank you for the tip on how to do this the right way. I don’t have a Home Depot close by but I think I’ll visit their store online.
Yeah definitely! I ordered mine online and it only took a few days to get it.
Love the template and I love the gallery wall idea. This is the best ever!
Love this! Do you have any tips for decorating or doing a picture gallery on a very large wall in your home?
Thanks!
Hmm I think I’d just double the size of your gallery wall. Make it huge! I think that would be pretty cool actually.
