Well it’s happening. Christmas decor is slowly but surely starting to come out of storage. I’m finally getting in the mood to deck the halls, but I’m not rushing into it this year And I gotta say–is kinda nice taking things slow. I feel like in years past I’ve decorated a bit too early and then by the time Christmas came around I was tired of all the decor. I don’t want that to happen this year, so I’m waiting a little longer than usual. But I can feel it coming and I’ve even started digging out decor from all my storage bins. I actually just did a really fun and easy Christmas DIY with copper spray paint that I’m excited to share with you guys today. This project involves a little wooden sleigh and two antique copper candlesticks!
I’ve had this little wooden sleigh and those old candlesticks for a few years now, but I only feel so-so about them. In fact I never even used the candlesticks. So I figured why not try sprucing them up with this cooper spray paint I ordered from Amazon! I’m really into copper right now and I think it’s beautiful for holiday decor. Here’s how they look now:
Quite the change, right?? They’re both so much better now and I love how they match! I put this little Christmas vignette together using a few bottle brush trees I already had on hand and I LOOOOOVE the simplicity of this look. The copper just creates a very clean and classic feel. PS: that new Tree Farm candle from Antique Candle Co is amazing!!
I haven’t done a spray paint project in a looooong time, but this definitely got me in the mood to do more. It’s just so dang easy and fun! Plus I love this finish on this copper spray paint. And the best part is transforming something you only feel so-so about into something you love. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this post and maybe it gave you an idea or two for your own home. Thanks for stoping by the blog today for this easy Christmas DIY. I’ll see you back here soon–I have another fun post coming tomorrow! xo
Love it Sarah! Looks stunning with all that white around it! This inspires me 🙂

Happy Thanksgiving!🦃🍁
thanks Bev!
Hi Sarah, I know what you mean when you say by the time Christmas rolls around you can get tired of looking at the tree. But this year I am doing just the opposite LOLOLOL I have my whole house decorated already!!!!!!! I am even doing all my shopping this weekend. I want to finally sit back and enjoy the holiday instead of shopping, cooking, baking and wrapping up until Christmas Eve. So this year I am starting early and am going to sit back and enjoy it all.
Have a blessed day
Love your blog friend
Tammy
P.S. LOVE the copper color….my tree decorations are the in the same family…gold, matte silver, burgundy, brown and very little copper…my tree is all Christmas balls….over 450 balls in total lolol and 1000 clear lights. I know I know I am the crazy tree lady lololololo
Good for you Tammy!! You’re ahead of the game this year. I say go for it if that’s what makes you happy!! xoxo
Hi, can you tell me how you spray paint….especially in bad weather? I have a few things, like branches I want to spray white and put in a very large silver metal vase on my front porch for winter, but wish I could just do it in the garage. Guessing that’s a no-no?
I just wait for a day that’s not windy! I spray painted these on the lawn, but I laid down a large piece of cardboard.
I love the copper! Looks awesome, Sarah!
thanks Nikki!!
Wow!! What a difference a little spray paint makes. This is such an inspiration and it is making some wheel in my head turn. Thanks so much for sharing your Joy!! Very Merry Everything
thank you Kimberly!!

ah thank you Shannon!! xo
SO pretty!!! I’m thinking of lots of items in my stash which could benefit from a new coat…of paint!! Thanks for your inspiration!!
Go for it Chris!
I love it! I need this picture for my life!
Turned out beautiful!
thanks Dacia!!
It’s beautiful. Love being able to spruce things up with a little paint. I am waiting until after Christmas to decorate this year so I am NOT tired of it when Christmas rolls around. Plus this year I am going to leave it up until AFTER New Years which I have done in a long time. The way it fell this year and when I have to go back to work after the holidays I can enjoy it all the way until New Year’s day and then de-decorate and still have a weekend before I have to go back to work. It’s always in the timing and how Thanksgiving and Christmas fall.
love that plan Debbie!
Beautiful job. Can you tell me the dimensions of that beautiful sign please? Thanks in advance. Tara
I LOVE RECYCLING! it’s like a makeover and gives something old a new life! Spray paint is so easy!!! Thanks for inspiring! I was planning to get rid of a bunch of Xmas stuff this weekend and now can be reminded to think recycle! Great idea to move slow…I love the process of decorating for Christmas 🎄 I think as much as the decor! ❤️
Yesssss!! Recycle that old decor, Faith!
I’m still not quite ready for Christmas decor but by all means continue to inspire me friend!
Will do, Loretta!
Super cute!
thanks Jeannie!
Hello, your project is adorable but I just have to say, because I work for a fire insurance company, it makes me a little nervous that there is paper right next to your burning candle. I just wanted to point it out in case you didn’t think about it. ☺️
It’s fun to revamp things lying around the house!
thanks for the note Rhonda, I’ll be careful!
I love the copper sled
and candles stick. Great job
thanks Deb!
Love how the spray paint completely transformed these! I love copper too! This is such a beautiful vignette Sarah!
thanks so much Melissa! xo
Hi Sarah,
Another great idea!
I really like the warm copper look myself, definitely a idea I will look to use and upcycling to no brainer 👏👏👍
Hi Sarah!
I can’t tell you how long I have waited for copper to come into the “chic” zone! When I was
15, my first job was selling copper souvenir’s in Northern Michigan. (Back in the 70’s) and I fell in love with it immediately. I wore copper jewelry and copper pieces in my apartment. I used copper to decorate when copper wasn’t cool! LOL So needless to say, I spray ALL OF THE THINGS copper now and my old pieces are super treasures to show off. I absolutely love your Christmas copper vibe, it looks amazing. Thank you for showcasing
my very favorite “oldie.”
Love this Sarah, Love that copper color. How many so so things i can find. love your little space. so simple, so sweet. have a good day girl. xoxox
Adorable! What a difference!
Can’t wait to take out my boxes and see what old things I might be able to upgrade to my current style. Thank you for the great idea.
I love this copper look so much! Never would I have thought about using copper but it sure works! 😘
