Decorate With Me: Wooden Bowl from Target

Morning buttercup and happy Tuesday! I thought it would be fun to start a new series here on the blog today called Decorate With Me. This series is all about how to style one specific decor piece in lots of different ways. I’m always picking up new decor, so I figured why not share simple ways you can style the same piece over and over again in your home?! Sounds like a good time if you ask me. I hope you agree because today we’re kicking off the series with a new wooden bowl from Target. I think it’s a dough bowl, but Target is calling it a rectangle bowl. I’ve come up with three super simple and easy ways to style this bowl in a jiffy! Now before we hop into it, here’s the bowl I bought:

Pretty, right? I was initially drawn to this bowl because of the natural wood finish. I LOVE this color and I feel like it can blend well with just about any style. It’s also pretty large, which means you can style it in a zillion different ways. This is the kind of piece you keep forever because you can use it in every room of your home. Like I mentioned, this is from Target, but you can use any similar bowl you already have on hand.

Idea #1: Use the wooden bowl on your coffee table with faux florals

Spring is right around the corner, so my first idea is to use this bowl to display a large bundle of faux florals on my coffee table. The florals I have drape really nicely over the bowl and I just love the way this looks–it’s simple, yet stunning at the same time. (My florals are from Michael’s last year!) And because this bowl is so large, I was able to use lots of florals. If you don’t have faux florals you could also use any type of greenery too. Just load it up!

Idea #2: Creative display for rolling pins

Ok, so this one only applies if you collect antique rolling pins like me, but I think this is such a fun and creative way to display my rolling pin collection! This bowl is huge, so I was able to load lots of them in here and then I finished it off with a kitchen towel for a little more texture. I LOVE this fun centerpiece sitting on my dining table! This would also be great sitting on a large hutch or cabinet.

Idea #3: Fill With House Plants

My last idea is to load this wooden bowl up with a few house plants. The plants here are in their own little container, so all I had to do was simply sit two of them in this bowl. They fit perfectly! Plus it’s a fun, unexpected way to display your plants. I think this would also be gorgeous in a sunroom or even on your kitchen counter if you have enough space for it.

Well there ya have it! Three easy and simple ways to use this wooden bowl in your home. Like I said earlier, I feel like this is one of those decor pieces that can literally be used over and over again in pretty much every room of your home. In fact, I could easily ramble on forever about more ways to decorate with this bowl, but then we’d be here all day and I’m sure you have things to do. Anyway, if you have any other ideas I’d love to hear it! And be sure to let the know if you have anything you’d like to see me style in the next Decorate With Me post! xo

That was really good ideas, you could also use it for displaying a collection of shell’s, vine ball’s with light’s in it or pinecone’s for fall and maybe some antique Christmas ornament’s in the winter. Love it!

Hi Sarah! I have a wooden bowl as well. I decorate it with the seasons. In the Spring, I fill it with faux Easter eggs. Summer and Fall faux flowers and leaves. Christmas, colorful round ornaments. The sky is the limit. A good purchase and tons of ways to decorate. Have fun and enjoy.

I recently inherited a hand-made large wooden dough bowl that belonged to my great-grandmother. Stories tell that each morning she made biscuits for her large family. I have it on our kitchen island filled with “Mama Eva’s” old rolling pins. I treasure it so much.

I have a very old round cheese box and have used it these ways. Right now it holds rolled up cloth placemats in our dining room. Have a great day!

I love your house! Did you wallpaper your walls or is it shiplap wallpaper? Where did you get your real fig tree? And finally, where did the black book rack come from that’s on your kiddos’ wall? Love your new bowl.
