Last week before we headed out to Texas we put together our guest bedroom, which has been siting empty for a couple months now. We actually moved the bed from that room up to my son’s bedroom, so that left the guest room sitting empty. I really wanted to convert this space into a little home gym or a game room, but it is nice to have an extra bed so that’s what we are going with for now. I thought it would be fun to share how the room is looking, plus we just got a new mattress, so I’ll chat about that too in case you’re looking for a good one.
I didn’t want to spend a ton of money in here, so I ordered this Hearth & Hand headboard from Target. My older daughter has the same one in her room and we love it! I also got this this organic comforter set from Walmart.
So for this mattress–this is our second Sleep on Latex mattress and they’re so good–they’re made with organic latex foam, organic cotton and organic New Zealand wool. Plus it’s super comfy. I’ve heard people raving about them on IG and I’d say they do live up to the hype. Definitely good to keep in mind if you’re looking for a high quality mattress without a bunch of chemicals!
This guest bedroom is in our basement and I’m so glad we added this into the reno plan when we finished that space. We went back and forth on it a ton, but in the ended we decided it was worth the extra money to have a bonus room. Maybe one day we’ll turn it into that home gym we’ve always wanted, but for now it’s a cozy little bedroom. Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today!!
