Christmas on the Front Porch
Happy December 22nd my friends! Today I’m sharing my final holiday post of the season and it’s all about Christmas on our front porch. But before I get into that, did you guys notice my new blog design!??!?! Eeeek! I’m SO in love with the new layout and I hope you guys like it too. I think it’s easier to navigate and it just looks a lot more polished overall. I’ve been wanting to do this for months, so I’m thrilled it’s finally happened and I love how it turned out. Yippppeee! In other news, can you believe Christmas is just 3 days away? THREE DAYS. That doesn’t seem possible, but somehow it’s here. And even though it’s a little last minute, I’m thinking this simple Christmas porch will be perfect for welcoming guests for the big day. And when I say guests I really just mean Santa. Surely he’ll notice this before heading down the chimney, right? I sure hope so.
I wanted to create a look that could transition easily into post-holiday decor, so I decided to keep it simple and light on the Christmas decor. After Christmas I’ll just take away the believe sign and the little pops of red, then ta-da–it becomes a rustic winter front porch. Fancy, huh?
My mom gave me this vintage Greyhound wagon and I pretty much leave it on our front porch year around. I just style it up as the seasons change and it works perfectly no matter what time of year it is. Add one of these wagons to your yard sale list this summer, they’re perfect for outdoor decor!
Ok guys, I’m no expert, but if I had to guess I’d say this little tree here is dying. What do you think? I swear, I’m awful at keeping plants and flowers alive. Really, I should be banned from buying them. I almost threw it away but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Not yet anyway, I’m still holding out hope for a revival!
So you might have noticed that our house has been painted and we no longer have that lovely yellow brick on our front step. Yaaaaaaay! I’m planning to share a full update on that soon, as well as lots of before and after photos, so stay tuned. You guys won’t believe how different the house looks now. Well I can’t believe this is my last Christmas post of the season. Crazy, huh? It’s been a fun two months of sharing holiday decor, but I’m so excited about what’s coming up here on the blog in the new year. I have lots of great posts lined up for January!
I wish you all a wonderful Christmas as we celebrate our Savior. I hope it’s full of lots of happiness, love, and delicious food! xoxo
