Basement Progress Update
Happpppy Sunday!! I’m popping in quick today to share a fun basement progress update. I can’t believe I haven’t done this yet, but there’s been so much happening and now we’re only a few weeks out from it being finished. Our basement was nothing but a concrete slab when we moved it and it was something we definitely wanted to tackle right away. Finishing this space will almost double the square footage of our home, which is awesome because it gives the kids way more room to spread out and play. Plus it gives me a home office! I’m literally counting down the days until it’s done!! Anyway, let’s get started with some progress photos. Here’s how it looked when we moved in:
This basement is huge, but it obviously needed a ton of work! Here’s how it looked when the framing started a few days after we moved in:

This is the door to the bathroom and my office is on the right! Those French doors will be painted black.
I’m obsessed with our bathroom tile!! We went with this Casablanca hexagon mosaic marble and I LOVE it. It’s from Riad Tile.
I really wanted a barn door slider for our bonus room down here. I love how it gives this corner more character. And here’s how the media cabinet looks now after being painted!
The bottom of this cabinet will have doors with the “X” design–those will go up white sweet and sconces installed on the top!
It’s been so fun to see this space come to life from literally nothing but a concrete slab. Now we’re only about two weeks out from the basement being finished! It’s been a long haul, but I know it will be worth the wait. I’ll definitely share more progress updates and things get closer!
