You know those rooms in your home that are just flat out neglected? I have them. Our laundry room, exercise room, and the guest bedroom–those are always the last to get any love. But this past week I finally gave our guest bedroom some much deserved attention, after living here nearly 9 months. (Although I can’t say the same for the laundry room or exercise room. Those shall stay ugly for now.) So today I’ll be sharing a little tour of this vintage inspired room, which I now want to hang out in all the time!
I love this bedding. I found it at Kohl’s on clearance last summer. It’s cozy and so soft!
My love for old doors runs deep. I would have an old door in every room of our home if I could. But then people might start to think I’m crazy. Well, more than they already do. I mean, how many doors can you have in your home before it’s a problem? Is it on the same level as being the crazy lady with too many cats? I don’t know. But I guess it’s a risk I’m willing to take.
Let’s talk about this cute hanging chicken-wire basket for a minute. Seriously, isn’t this SO cute on the door? I needed something to hang in this giant empty space so I started “shopping” the house and came up with this basket and bottle combo I’ve had sitting around for months. I actually love it here. If you’re looking for a good option to do something similar I would suggest this cute chicken-wire basket and bottle combo on Amazon.
These little drawer fronts were pulled off an old desk my in-laws found for me. I love the handles and the perfectly chippy blue paint.
This old porcelain tub was found on one of my recent junkin’ trip. It’s perfect for blankets and pillows.
That’s it! Our refreshed and cozy guest bedroom is now ready for visitors. Of course there are a few things I’d still love to do here (planked walls!) but for now I will resist the urge for more and call it good. Let me know what you think in the comments and thanks for stopping by!
This is so great. Found you on Instagram and can honestly say that I think I also own as many doors and old things! Windows, suitcases, old gas cans π my husband also says I’m obsessed with white…fun to find a kindred spirit!!
We definitely are cut from the same cloth Danielle! I have been looking for old suitcases but can’t find any that aren’t way over priced at antique shops. Thanks for reading!
Looks beautiful! I love getting decorating tips from you on IG and here. I think leave the trunk brown for a while because it does look good, but eventually it would look so good painted, either white or a light gray. I can just see it looking adorable either color! Well done! π
Thanks Amber! I agree, gray would also look really nice. I might have to give that a try when it’s time to paint! π
Where did you get that lamp beside the bed? I love it! Simple and unique.
I’ve had that lamp shade a while…I think it was from Target.
I hear you about painting everything white! Also, my hubs teases me that I am going to plank the entire inside and outside of our house. Planking, painted white, of course????. Love the bedding! I am looking for something similar to this for my daughter’s room so I will check out Kohls. Thanks!
Tara, we are kindred spirits. I would plank the entire inside of our home if I could too! Thanks for reading!
