Does anyone else feel like this week was super long? Gosh, it seemed to drag on and on for me. And to be really honest, it’s been a rough week. Life just kind of kicked my butt this week–especially in the motherhood department. It turns out being a mom to three is amazing, but it’s also about ten times harder than being a mom to just two. There was one moment in particular this week during bedtime when all three kids were calling for me at once. Well the baby was crying, but you get the idea. Each of them was genuinely upset about something and needed me to be there for them, but obviously I couldn’t be in three places at once. And honestly, I hate that feeling, but it happens several times a day–pulled in multiple directions and struggling to give each of them the full attention they deserve. It seriously breaks my heart and brings me to tears to know I can’t be everything to all of them at the same time. I know I’m only two months into this mom-of-three-thing and I’m still figuring it out, but dang. It sure is hard on this mama’s heart to know that I can’t do it all even though I desperately want to. I’m just praying that God gives me the ability to be the best mom I can be to each of them and that they all feel heard and cherished. That’s really all that matters to me. Anyway, I should stop blabbing about my emotional woes of the week and get onto today’s Friday Favorites post. Today is all about table linens and my new chargers!
I ordered these windmill inspired galvanized chargers last week and they finally arrived a few days ago. I’ve never seen any quite like these and I am in loooooooove with them. I mean, how darn pretty is the combo of the white scalloped plates and galvanized metal?!
I also ordered these laced trim napkins to go along with my new chargers. I love the vintage vibe these have and that lace is just perfect. I always love paring really feminine things like these napkins with the more rustic pieces like the charger. The combo just works together so well.
I’ve also been getting a lot of questions about the table runner I share in about 95% of my dining room photos. You can see it in this shot I shared in this fall post last week:
This is the Blue Villa Stripe Table Runner and it’s actually on sale right now for less than ten bucks. And the best part is that it’s water resistant. A few weeks ago my darling Allie actually spilled orange juice on it during breakfast and it just wiped right up. Easy peasy and no stain whatsoever. I had no idea it would do that, but I was very grateful! This is definitely a good buy and it comes in a few different colors options too.
And since I’m a bit obsessed with farmhouse style table linens, I also rounded up some great affordable options for you guys. I found lots of pretty napkins and a few table runners that are all gorgeous.

Thanks for coming by the blog today and listening to my ramblings. I hate being a Debbie Downer, but this week was just hard on my mama heart and I like to be real with you guys, even when it isn’t always pretty. I know many of you have probably felt that same feeling of not being enough or falling short in one way or another when it comes to motherhood. But at the end of the day, all that really matters is that we do our best and give ourselves some grace in the process, right? Right.
I hope you all have a great weekend. I’ll see you back here on Monday. xoxo
What beautiful linens….I am a new subscriber and just love your blog.
Thank you so much Betsy, so glad to have you subscribe!
Oh my goodness Sarah !!!! I can always count on you to show me just the “thing” that I never even knew I needed but now I must have!!!!
Thankfully I have a bestie that works at Pier One—-!I HAVE to have those chargers.
Aren’t those chargers awesome!? And so affordable too. I hope you got some from your friend!
i just want to say you are NOT being a debbie downer – you are talking about the realities of parenting and i think its positive for us all to share the struggles and not pretend its rainbows and unicorns all the time so that other moms can lift you up in those hard times. we have all been there! its hard to feel like as a mom you have to be perfect all the time – and you are teaching patience to your kids in those moments, which is a hard life lesson to master no matter our age 🙂
Thank you Daisy, I appreciate your encouragement so much. And it’s true, life and motherhood isn’t always rainbows and unicorns. I can’t help but be honest about those tough moments and I’m so grateful to have readers like you that understand! Big hugs to you. xoxo
Sarah, just wanting to be there for all of them is enough. Like one of the previous readers said, it is good for them to learn patience and that life sometimes doesn’t get “fixed” right at the exact second you want it to. Having siblings is the absolute best gift to give your children, as you know, and this is exactly one of the reasons why. Thy learn to share, work things out on their own, not end up being the center of the universe and getting everything they want or need at a moment’s notice. If your heart is in the right place, it all works out! But, I still understand your heart…we mothers always want to be everything our babies need!😊
That is definitely true Megan–having siblings is a big blessing for them and they will learn patience as time goes on. And hopefully I will learn how to balance it all!
Oh Sarah, I’m a Grammie and have been thru parenting. I feel your pain, but know that You are doing a great job! It is impossible to be in three places at one time, so don’t beat yourself up. The kids will learn independence and patience (eventually 🙂 In the times of need, just pray…he is always with you!
Love all of your design work! Blessings…
Thank you for the encouragement Tina, I appreciate it!
Oh sweet Sarah- what a blessing you are to your children! Your children know your heart even at their young ages and they know that you love them. With my own children who are now basically grown, I always asked God to step in and fill all those gaps that I felt weak in. And He does! Just keep this in mind… you are doing better than you think! And your table looks great!
I love that Deedra and you are so right! I definitely need God to fill in those gaps that I am weak in on a daily basis. Thank you for all the encouragement!
After I had my third child, I felt like my life really changed. Even the fourth one didn’t seem as changing as the third one did. I remember (it was many years ago, my girls all have “babies” of their own now), that I had never “perspired” before!!! Whew!!!! Hope that’s not too much 😬info! Seriously, it was really a time of adjustment in my life. My husband worked full time as well as attend college full time. I was a full time stay at home mom. I didn’t even have my driver’s license at the time. I wonder how I did it sometimes. I know that a lot of times young mothers feel like they are NEVER going to get out of that stage in their life. I know, because I felt the same way. Trust me, though, it passes soooooi fast. I’m a grandmother of 12, and it really seems like my girls should still be the age of their children, at home under my feet!
I think you’re doing a great job and admire you for choosing to stay home with your little ones! They will be so much the better for it.
The Lord will give you strength if you keep asking Him. Hey, I still have to ask Him for strength now to get through the day! He’s there for us!
One thing I love that we as mothers can pray, and that is that He will make us be a “joyful mother of children”! Ps. 113:9 mentions this.
Didn’t mean to write a book, but just want you to know, you’re not alone; many others, at many times have felt the same way. It will pay off someday, though! Gail
I love your house!
I so agree with all of this too! I have four boys, all grown now, but I also remember that the third child made it feel like everything doubled, especially the laundry! You are doing great Sarah, just keep trusting the Lord and enjoy this precious time in your life because it will feel like you blink and they will be grown. God bless!
Thank you Brenda, I always appreciate your kind words. And you are so right–this is such a precious time in my life with the kids little and I want to enjoy every minute of it!
Than you for sharing this with me Gail! I am really inspired by your story and faith. And I love that verse you shared too, I am going to write that on the chalkboard on our command center!
Hi Sarah, I love reading your blog, and look forward to it. Sometimes we just have to vent a little, life gives us so many challenges. I don’t usually comment on your post, but I took offense to one of your readers comments. After 11 years of infertility, we were blessed with one adopted son, and yes, he is the center of our universe, and will always be. With only one child, there still are challenges, many different from having a larger family. Now, in the grandma time of my life, we have been blessed with two beautiful granddaughters, who I care for, so I am learning some new challenges. Sorry, for the rambling, but this is a sensitive subject, and I wish people weren’t so insensitive with their comments. I love the chargers with the softer side of the lace napkins, I’ll have to get to pier one today!! Thank you for your blog!! You are an inspiration!
I know what you mean Cynde–my kiddos are definitely the center of my universe, which makes it hard to brush it off when you feel like one of them isn’t getting what they need emotionally. Motherhood isn’t easy, no matter if you have 1 or 5 kids, so all we can do is give ourselves some grace and remember tomorrow is a new day! Thank you for dropping by the blog, big hugs to you.
Sarah, I totally love how “real” you are and that you are able to express such love and frustration along with your total trust in God in such an endearing way! I had a week much like yours, but (be ready to be shocked!) I am 69 and love your blog and your decorating style which mirrors mine. I don’t have 3 little ones, but I do have a wonderful husband who suffers from vascular dementia, which (smile now) is about the same thing. This along with an elderly spoiled rotten dog and 2 kittens! This morning I prayed alone in the bathroom (for privacy) knowing that God could take care of things. And He did!!! Hubby took all 3 kids (animals) and they took a 2 hour nap giving momma time to chill, paint a lamp white and even monogram the shade, all the while giving praise to the One who made it possible!
Oh Jan, you definitely do have your hands full! Thank you for sharing this with me and I love what you said about taking a moment by yourself in the bathroom to pray. It’s amazing how those little moments of calling on God for strength can be so powerful and totally change our day. Hugs to you friend, I hope you are having a great weekend!
So pleased you showed photo of ‘charger’. Here in Oz it’s an unknown word for I guess large under plate. They look SENSATIONAL. Hate to think of cost in $Aud, plus postage. But you’ve inspired me to look out for similar.
Thank you so much Cynthia! Good luck finding something similar!
quick question if u dont mind me asking – where did you find your dinnerware – it’s beautiful:) thanks!
Hi Daisy! I got it from Target, you can see it here: https://rstyle.me/n/cpr6aub6hgf
Sarah,
Your blog is phenomenal!! It’s so detailed and specific on diy, and decor. I love every single posts and all your beautiful, and affordable decor and diy ideas! I would really like to know…or read a post from you about how you store and organize seasonal decorations and things whole not in use! I feel like my house is overflowing with stuff!
Thank you so much Jenn, I am so glad you like it! And as for storing seasonal things that we don’t use, I actually have a large basement with quite a bit of storage so that helps. And a garage that is practically overflowing. HA!
I sooooooo like galvanized Decor items… those chargers are FUN and so different… a.n.d. soon to be on my table.
I was surprised how heavy they are. –thank you. LUV LUV your blog.

Aren’t they awesome Linda!? I am always a sucker for galvanized anything!
