So I went through most of yesterday feeling like it was Monday. Or maybe Sunday?! It was seriously the weirdest thing and I just felt off all day long. Holidays in the middle of the week always throw me for a loop. Anyway, I’m happy it’s the weekend and we get a few more days to relax and get back on track. And today I wanted to pop in and share a little summer inspired refresh I just finished in the bedroom. I’ve been wanting to change a few things in this space for a while now, especially our mismatched nightstands we’ve had since we got married over ten years ago, so I ended up getting a few budget-friendly items from Walmart. Now this room a fresh new look for summer and I’m excited to share it!
Thanks you to Walmart for sponsoring today’s post!
I really wanted to swap out the two little stools we had at the foot of our bed for something larger. Those stools were pretty small, so I was looking for something that would give us a bit more seating room. I found this farmhouse inspired bench and I LOVE the rustic look. It’s also solid wood too, which is a big plus.
Next up I wanted to add a bit of color to this room for summer, so I picked up this pretty chambray comforter set in light blue. I think the color ties in perfectly with the blue/gray tones in our area rug. And it’s nice and lightweight for summer–it’s 100% cotton. The set also comes with that cute button pillow. That white duvet cover at the end of the bed is also a Walmart find. I’ve had that almost a year now and I love it.
Last but not least is the addition of our new nightstands! I can’t even tell you how excited I am to have new matching nightstand for the first time in my adult life. I love the look of these and they are SUPER affordable. Plus they’re just the right size for our bedroom.
I wanted to give the nightstands a bit more texture, so I found a pair of round seagrass baskets to sit on top. These are so awesome. The come in a set of two and I love how they warm up the look of the nightstands. Plus they’re big enough to hold our lamps and other goodies. Perfect little combo!
I love the beachy, boho vibe happening in this room now. The pop of blue really makes it feel summer-y in here, right?! And major bonus points for the fact that everything I used in this space was so budget friendly. Definitely check out Walmart if you’re looking to do a little refresh in your bedroom. They have so many great options and tons of items have free two day shipping!
Ok that’s it for me today! I’m off to enjoy the rest of the weekend, but I’ll be back here very soon with some SUPER EXCITING news on Monday!!! Stay tuned. xo

Love the new look. So fresh and pretty. Is the lace looking thing under your pillows a blanket? I love how it hides the sheets and top of the bed. It really adds such detail. Such an inspiration to refresh my room.
Yes, Annette! It’s actually an old crocheted blanket.

Love the new summer look. I also love those lamps on the NEW nightstands!!!! Wonder where you found those ???? I’ve been looking for a pair of wooden lamps and really like yours. I love everything you do and you give so much of your time to help us decorate our homes so we can be comfortable and cozy!!!! I like the lighter, summery (not a word) look as well. Just adding a slight change in a room can lifts one’s sprite. Have a great rest of the weekend and looking for Monday!!

Such a beautiful room! I love the blue. What paint color is your shiplap wall behind the bed?
Hi Vicki, I think that’s Pure White by Behr.
Thx for the inspiration! Beautiful! I also was wondering where the lamps are from, as well as the botanical prints! Love those. You did an amazing job on this and love your whole beautiful home as well!
Thank you so much Michelle! The lamps are from Hobby Lobby. And the botanical prints were part of my curated collection with Cloth and Cabin back in March!
Your bed room looks great! I have a small bedside table that I painted it once when I picked up in a 2nd hand store for 5.00. Im going to repaint the bedside table and make it cute like yours. You must have a much better Walmat than we do here where I live. They seem to have neater things . Have a great day and keep coming up with your great ideas. I used an older coffee table at the end of my bed once after I had sanded it down and redone it. It was an older one , strong and sturdy from the 60’s you could sit on it too. Made a cute place to put things and sit if needed. I would also bring it in the den if I had company and not enough chairs. Worked out great!
This so fresh and lovely! Would you by chance have a link for the botanical prints? Just gorgeous!
Hi Mary, those are from Cloth and Cabin actually!
