Spring Refresh in the Living Room

Well good morning buttercup and happy April!! Gosh that feels SO weird to say. How the heck is it April already?! Iā€™m not really sure how we’re already so far into the year, but here we are. And I donā€™t know about you, but Iā€™m basically busting at the seams with spring fever, which is a bit crazy because here in Colorado we still have a lot of winter weather to get through. In fact, it was absolutely freezing for Easter yesterday. Those poor kids had a very cold egg hunt. But the chilly weather ain’t stopping me. Nope, I’m in full blown spring mode. Iā€™m ready for warm temps, green grass, fresh flowersā€“all the lovely spring things! I have slowly but surely been adding spring touches to the house and today Iā€™m excited to share a little spring refresh I did in our living room. I actually made a trip to Marshalls a few weeks ago and I found several fun goodies that have given this space a new fresh look. I have lots to share today, so grab a snack and letā€™s get to it!

When I was thinking of how I wanted to spruce up this room for spring, the first thing that came to mind was new wreaths for these doors by our TV. I wanted something with lots of flowers, but not too over the top, so when I went into Marshalls that was priority number one. I wasnā€™t sure what Iā€™d find, but thatā€™s actually the fun part about shopping at Marshallsā€“itā€™s always a surprise to see what new items they have on the shelves and you never know what youā€™re going to get, but you know you’ll love it. The store was full of a great selection of spring decor and I found these gorgeous wreaths right away. Iā€™m loving soft pink and peach tones right now, so these were a perfect fit!

I also found these faux potted roses (also in the perfect shade of pink!) and I scooped up two of them. Although if Iā€™m being honest I kind of regret not buying more of these because they are so darn perfect. And heavy too! Theyā€™re really great quality. I love them here on our TV stand, but I think these would also look really great as a pretty spring centerpiece on our dining room table as well. I am absolutely obsessed with these and I love the look of that aged white potā€“it definitely has a vintage vibe going on. I know Iā€™ll be leaving these out all spring and summer.

I was so excited to find a ton of gorgeous spring pillows and throws at Marshalls. I could have easily bought them all, I mean you guys know how much I love my throw pillows and I always like to switch them up as the seasons change. I couldnā€™t resist this floral watercolor pillow with the succulents. I also snagged that super soft light pink throw to go along with it for an awesome price.

I wanted to add a bit more color to our living room, so I also grabbed two of these gorgeous light blue pillows as well. These are actually down-filled, so theyā€™re really great quality and super duper comfortable. I love the vintage-y floral design too!

You know how much I love my faux greenery, so of course I also had to find a few new potted plants for our living room. I cannot get enough of these little guysā€“they are one of my must-have home decor items. I have a few of these in just about every room in our home! And Marshalls always has an awesome selection of faux greenery at great prices.

Ok, can we just talk about this big woven basket for a hot minute?! You guys, the minute I spotted this guy I was totally smitten. The shape of it I reminded me of a vase, so I brought it home and filled it up with all of my faux flowers. It makes such a fun addition to our living room and I absolutely loooooooove it.

Spring Refresh in the Living Room

I am seriously in love with how this room came together. I even told my husband the other night that I wish I could keep our living room looking like this forever. And thatā€™s saying a lot because you guys know I am constantly moving things around. But really, itā€™s just such a happy, pretty room and I am obsessed with the soft pops of pink right now. And Iā€™m loving all of the fun surprises I found at Marshalls, they had everything I wanted to freshen up this room for spring. And you just canā€™t beat their pricesā€“they always deliver on value but not at the cost of quality. Thatā€™s a big win-win in my book.

Well I hope you enjoyed this fun little tour of our spring living room. Thanks so much for stopping in today and hanging out with me. I always appreciate it!! xoxo

HI, Sarah! I’m a real “decorate for the seasons” person, too, so adding flowers and plants is a favorite spring thing for me. You’ve done a beautiful job of making it look like spring, no matter what the weather is doing! Way to go!

I have a question about your steamer trunk in the living room. I have something that looks very similar and I’m wondering how you cleaned yours up so beautifully? I would love to give mine a “face lift” but am not sure what to use. Thanks!

    • 4.2.18
      Sarah said:

You know what, that trunk belong to my Granny. She had it in her living room for years and years as her coffee table. I was lucky enough to inherit it when she passed away. So I didn’t have to clean it up at all, it was in great shape. Sorry I can’t be more help!!
