New Reading Room Look

You guys!! I hit the jackpot on Facebook Marketplace over the weekend and I’m so excited to share my finds with you. I got four green velvet swivel chairs and I’m SMITTEN. Seriously, these chairs are a dream. They’re not only super comfortable, but they actually make the front room/dining room/I-don’t-know-what-to-do-with-it room feel complete as a cozy little reading room. After two years of trying to find a practical and useful way to use this room, I think I’ve finally figured it out.

How awesome are these chairs?! When I saw them listed on marketplace I immediately sent a message. I knew these chairs would be perfect for this space. And I love the color! Plus the lady selling them had only owned them two months and they were in perfect condition. I was able to get a stellar deal too. Such a lucky find!

We have tons of books just sitting in boxes in storage since we moved, so I was really happy to bust some of those out and use them in this room. It actually feels like a little reading/library room now.

I’m not kidding when I say that we have used this room more in the last three days than we have in the entire (almost) two years we’ve been in this house. The kids love these chairs, I love them, and even my husband is a fan, despite his reservations at first. The swivel is just perfect because it allows us to pivot the chairs towards the living room or kitchen, so everything feel really pulled together now.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog, I’d love to hear what you think of my Facebook Marketplace find!

Love it!! Now you should add a floor lamp or two and low bookcase against the entire length of the wall so you can add more of your books .. including all books for the family …adding your decor in as well. Of course , just a suggestion 😊. I’m hoping to create a “library” space to my living area and you’ve given me some inspiration!! So happy you’ve found what works in this space as I know you’ve been struggling … it’s so pretty!! ❤️

thanks Tracy, I’m really happy with how it all came together. I would like to get a bigger bookcase or cabinet of some kind for even more books!
