New Floors in the Basement!

The wood floors in the basement are done!!! This project has been in the works for a while now and I’m so pumped we were able to make this change. Carpet was just not the best choice for our family–with the kids and dog we were always stressing over stains and dirty feet and spills. And to be honest, that was my biggest regret when we finished the basement. I wished we had done LPV floor from the get-go, like we did in my office (which is also in the basement). But you live and learn, right?! Anyway, we finally decided to make the switch and I LOVE IT. Plus since the carpet was still in good shape, we were able to sell it!

This transformation is pretty cool:

Before with carpet and now with the wood floor:

It’s crazy how much the contrast of this floor changed the entire look of this basement. It not only looks bigger and brighter, but it’s more balanced now. I think all the white of the carpet and walls and white cabinets just blended together. It ended some warmth! Plus because this floor is LPV, (it’s not recommended to put real wood floor in a basement) it’s basically indestructible, which is going to be so nice for our family. PS: the brand on this floor is Endura and the color is white sand.

Thanks so much for dropping by the blog today. I’d love to hear what you think of this change!
