Mom’s Sugar Cookie Recipe

I wanted to share my favorite sugar cookie recipe for making Christmas cookies! These are a holiday tradition in our house–my mom has made these for years and they are so yummy. Here is the recipe if you want to try:

Mom’s Sugar Cookies

2 cups sugar

1 cup sour cream

1 tsp cream of tartar

1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp salt

1 cup butter (softened or melted)

1 tsp baking soda

3 eggs

6 cups flour

Cream together sugar, sour cream, butter. Add vanilla and eggs. Then mix dry ingredients. Only start with 4 cups of flour. then add baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Combine dry ingredients with the wet ingredients and mix well.

Add more flour as needed, and use flour on counter to roll out dough.

Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

ENJOY!! xoxo

My little girl is obsessed with this cookie recipe! We tried it a few days ago and we’ve already made it twice. Unfortunately, the second time she shared with the dog so I’ll have to get an upholstery cleaning</a, but totally worth it. Thank you so much for sharing!!
