Life Update + Pretty Corner in the Basement

Helllllo and happy Thursday to you! So if you follow along over on Instagram, you might know life has been a bit crazy over here for the past week or so. My son and husband both have the “sickness” as we’ll call it. Thankfully my husband’s case has been very mild, but my son did have a pretty intense 16 hour bout with it. His fever spiked up really high, he had terrible nausea, and body aches. It was a scary situation there for a bit, but God got us through it. Thankfully, his symptoms eased up just as fast as they came on and by the next day he was starting to feel much better. I’m so thankful we’re on the other side of that and I’m just praying the girls and I continue to stay healthy.

Anyway, yesterday I got a small window of time to myself so I did what fils my cup–I re-styled a little corner in our basement. Decorating has always had a very calming effect on me and I’m so glad I got the chance to do that for a bit.

It’s crazy how just getting time to zone out and re-style even the smallest corner can make me feel better. It’s very therapeutic and always leaves me in a calmer state of mind.

This arched bookcase is from Target. The wall rack is from Walmart. The round pink pouf is from World Market. Curtains are from Target.

Thanks so much for dropping by the blog today. I’m so grateful to have you here. Hope you are staying happy and healthy!

Sarah here! Nice to meet you. I’m a mama to three, wife to my high school sweetheart and accidental blogger. We recently moved to our little homestead on ten acres and we're loving the small town life in Colorado. I hope this space can inspire you to create a home you love and enjoy the simple moments the most.

I’m so sorry to hear about your husband and son’s illness. I’m glad to hear they are improving.
I do have a favor to ask regarding the cane table in your lower level. Where did you purchase it from? I think you said once but I forgot.
Love your new little puppy. And your home always looks so inviting and charming. You have a great sense of style.

Hi! First I am sending positive thoughts your way on dealing with Covid. Hope you and your family recover quickly and well. You may not feel comfortable sharing, and I respect that, but is your family vaccinated? Again completely respect that but with your platform maybe it is worth discussing. Wishing you well.
