Friday Favorites: Vintage Toolbox, Coffee Mugs & More
Holy cow, what a week it has been over here. You guys, we were hit hard with the crud and three out of four of us had it this week. Sore throat, cough, congestion, fever, body aches. The whole nine yards. Well, everything except the stomach bug–thank goodness! It’s definitely not fun being pregnant and sick at the same time, but my little guy Owen definitely had it the worst. He missed his swimming lesson, the Easter egg hunt at school, and lots of other fun things this week. Poor little guy. And all this means I’ve pretty much been homebound since Tuesday. And yes, I’m starting to go a wee bit crazy over here. It’s been roooough. I feel like this whole week has been a blur from one sleepless night to the next. But thank goodness it is Friday and things are looking up. And it’s not just any Friday–this is Good Friday my friends and Easter is only two days away. Time to celebrate our risen King! I’m sharing one of my favorite Easter images below, but first here are a few other random favorites.
Favorite Coffee Mugs
If you follow me on Instagram you know I love posting photos of my morning coffee. In fact, these are one of my favorite shots to post. These adorable honeycomb inspired mugs are currently my favorite—-I absolutely love them. This one here is the Aqua Red Dot mug and it’s from JC Penny. They actually carry several similar options, which are all just as adorable. I also have the Blue Diamond and the Lemon Black Dot. I just checked and they’re currently on sale for 50% off. Might be a fun little Mother’s Day gift!
Easter Carrot Cupcakes
Since it’s been such a rough week around here I really want to make Easter special for the kiddos. I found this recipe for these insanely cute Easter “Carrot” Cupcakes from Your Cup of Cake. How adorable are these? I love the idea of doing a chocolate covered strawberry to look like a carrot. So smart! I really want to make these with the kids this weekend.
Anthropologie Candle Dupe
Are you guys familiar with the insanely popular soy candles from Anthropologie? They’re amazing, but a bit on the pricey side if you ask me. Well I think I’ve found a dupe for one of their most popular candles.
I picked up this Bella Island Moonlight candle at Target this past week and OMG. You guys, this smells just like the Volcano candle from Antrhoroplogie, which I was obsessed with a few years ago–I just couldn’t stomach the price tag. This one from Target is only ten bucks and it’s so darn similar I can’t believe it. It’s a mix of sandalwood and orange, which is pure heaven. I need to go grab a few more before they’re all gone. I’ll tell ya folks, my candle obsession is out of control.
A Vintage Toolbox & Easter Centerpiece
So I rearranged the furniture in our dining room the other day, big surprise I know, and I just casually set my Grandpa’s toolbox on the dining table while I moved a couple things around. As I was getting ready to put the toolbox back on the dresser where it was, I realized it looked so much better on our dining table.
I’ll be hosting Easter this weekend for my family (eek!) and this will be our centerpiece. And I actually think it’s perfect, considering this belonged to my Grandpa. It’s pretty special to me.
He is Risen!
Where there is resurrection, there is life. Amen to that, right? I found this image that Proverbs 31 Ministries shared last Easter and I just love it. Simple, but these words mean everything. This weekend is about hope and restoration. We have so much to be thankful for as we celebrate our risen King. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
I’ll see you back here on Monday with a big, huge, ginormous post. I can’t wait to show you what we’ve been up to lately!!

I just rescued a wooden tool box from a load hubby was taking to the dump. I’m thinking of using it to hold flowers as well. Are your flowers real? If so… can you tell me what you did with yours? I’m assuming it’s lined? So pretty though!

When I open my email and have a post from you it is like WooHoo!! I just discovered your blog on Pintrest about a week ago. It was like Christmas🌲🌲🌲I have been reading past blogs, and I have learned so much. Chip and Jo are my two best friends. NOT!! But, I feel that way. I have seen every episode a zillion times.
