I’ve been watching old episodes of Fixer Upper lately. I’m talking episodes from 2014, 2015 kinda era. And you know what? It’s been so good for my soul. I know that probably sounds ridiculous, but that show was such an inspiration for me. When it first aired, my son was three years old (he’s now 13!) and my favorite thing to do in my spare time was paint old furniture, shop at thrift stores, and decorate our little house with vintage finds. Then the show came along and it was just the perfect combination of everything I loved. And before long I was starting my won blog to document all my DIY/decorating/thrifting adventures. That’s what started it all! So watching Fixer Upper always reminds me of that season in my life and it just makes me happy. Anyway, enough rambling. Today I have our fall front porch to share! I just finished it up yesterday and I love the way it came together.
First step for any fall porch: gather your supplies! I always get a bunch of pumpkins and tend to look for a variety of colors/shapes. Then you gotta have a good fall wreath and maybe a few straw bails. This year I also got little buckets from Michaels for mini pumpkins! That’s it. Nothing too fancy.
These maple trees are from Amazon and they actually light up. But I don’t have a spot to plug them in here, so I just put them in these tall black planters and called it good!
Now let’s just hope I can keep those darn mums alive. I have a terrible track record! Why are they so hard?! I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Anyway, that’s our simple fall porch! Thanks so much for stopping by th blog today. I hope this gives you a few ides for your own home this fall season. xo
Welcome Mat (this one is huge!)
Your porch is so lovely
I read your blog and chuckled at the phrase “fixer upper”. First thing came to mind, “ that’s me, a fixer upper”.
God is always fixing me up to be like Him. I’m not there yet, but love the colors of the pumpkin He chose.
Thank you for sharing your “gift” of decor.
haha you and me both, total fixer upper here!
So cute! Thanks for keeping the blog up. I recently stopped IG and FB and it’s nice to stay connected and still get your content
