Easy DIY Terracotta Pumpkins

Anyone else notice that terracotta pumpkins are super popular right now?! They seem to be everywhere–Pottery Barn has some super cute options. But they’re pricey! So the other day I set out to make my own and they turned out pretty darn cute. If you’ve ever wanted to make your own DIY terracotta pumpkins, this post is for you! I was able to make three in under 10 minutes.

I used styrofoam pumpkins from Dollar General for this project! But Amazon has some too. I first applied a coat of this terracotta paint.

Then while the paint was still wet, I applied basic flour with a paint brush. I just coated it all over the pumpkin. I worked in lines along the natural grooves of the pumpkin. Then I used a different paint brush and dusted off the excess! That was it.

Here’s how they turned out:

Not too shabby right?! I think they’re super cute and much more budget friendly than spending $30 on a terracotta pumpkin. I could have coated them with a sealer, but I didn’t do that.

I’d love to hear with you think of these easy DIY terracotta pumpkins!! And let me know if you give it a try this fall.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog!
