A Cozy Vintage Crib on the Back Patio

Goooooood morning sunshine and happy Monday!! So I’m gearing up for a crazy week over here because it’s officially the last week of school and my little guy is graduating from kindergarten. Cue alllllll the tears. I really cannot believe he’s already finished with his first year of school. Seriously, this year has absolutely flown by and I’m honestly sad to see it come to an end. Can’t he just stay in kindergarten forever?! I mean, is that really too much to ask? Ugh. I guess so. Anyway, this week is going to be rough on my mama heart. But in better news, today I have a super fun post to share with you guys because it’s all about my beloved vintage crib! If you’ve been around for a while you might remember that we converted an old crib into a couch/daybed a few years ago and it actually used to be in our front room. Well it’s been moved all over the house since then, but for the past few months I’ve been anxiously waiting to put it on the back patio for a cozy summer lounging spot. Our weather has been so crummy and super rainy lately, but yesterday we finally got a bit of a break in the clouds so I quickly ran outside to play around with it. I didn’t have a lot of time, but I managed to get it styled up a little so I could share it today!

Isn’t that the coziest little summer lounging spot?! This old crib actually belonged to my husband’s aunt, but she was kind enough to give it to us a few years ago. Then my father in law converted it into a daybed for us. He has magical skills like that. I love how it turned out and it’s actually super comfortable! Check out this post if you want to see more info on how we converted it into a daybed.

I picked up this adorable outdoor pillow last week and I love how it has a vintage vibe to it. Plus next time I need to know the peak harvest time for a certain vegetable I can just refer to this handy pillow. Surely I’ll impressive everyone with my vegetable knowledge. BRILLIANT.

Last year I did a really fun little herb garden in all of my vintage wooden boxes (see that post here). I’m planning to do something similar this year, but I haven’t planted anything yet. The weather has been too crazy lately, so I’m going to hold off for a bit longer. Until then these faux plants do just fine.

I’m planning to do a lot more to this area in the next couple of weeks, but I just wanted to give you a little peek at how it’s looking now. I am SO excited for summer and I can’t wait to get our back patio spruced up. We spend a ton of time outdoors during the summer, especially in the evenings, so I want to make our outdoor spaces as cozy and comfortable as possible. This crib is great because we actually do use it for extra seating and it’s an awesome little spot to hang out. I know it’s going to get a ton of use over the next few months!

Very cute as per usual 🙂 I’m taking a break from Instagram but love the fact I still get your emails and see your ideas and decorating! Out of all the people I followed on insta, u were the only one I wanted to stick with. I love everything u love lol! I’m slowly accumulating different things for my house but it takes time and money lol. I too am planning out my back patio. I have old doors, windows etc that I want to put outside but not sure exactly where yet. Bought some old saloon doors the other day, once white and distressed I’m going to put Lord knows where lol, but have some ideas. Looking forward to your patio pics and ideas 🙂

I found a similar antique crib but we put it in our flower garden and now have a clematis growing on it.
Love what you did with yours. I will keep an eye out for another for my future summer porch.
