One Year in Our New Home–My Favorite Before + After Photos

I don’t know how it’s possible, but we’ve officially been in our home for one year now. That feels a little surreal to say because in a lot of ways it feels like we just moved in. But then again, when I think of all the work we’ve done in the last year it definitely feels longer! It’s been such a fun year and even though I was so nervous as heck to leave our last home (I loved it so much!) I know this was a good move for us. We all love living in the country, plus it’s been a lot of fun to see this house transform from very builder-grade to something more cozy over the last twelve months. Anyway, I thought it would be fun share some of my favorite before and afters from the last year!

It’s been such a fun, busy year here on the homestead. I’m still figuring out what works best in each space, but I love it! And I can’t wait to see what other projects we tackle in the next year. I shared a list of dream projects here, but up first is our mudroom/laundry room. Tile has been ordered and the light tube is going in next week. Can’t wait to share as that project unfolds.

Thanks so much for being here with me this past year. I truly appreciate when you stop by the blog–it means a lot!!

Sarah here! Nice to meet you. I’m a mama to three, wife to my high school sweetheart and accidental blogger. We recently moved to our little homestead on ten acres and we're loving the small town life in Colorado. I hope this space can inspire you to create a home you love and enjoy the simple moments the most.

no you’re not! I think they actually discontinued that color, which is such a bummer. It was my favorite! We had that color at our old house too. I’m sorry!

I love the term “builder-grade” because it describes the new home I just purchased. Like the “before” pics of your home, my 1745 colonial was stripped of its charm; all that’s left behind is “builder-grade” everything. Thank you for helping me to imagine the possibilities for my historic home.

the walls are alabaster, but I can’t say for sure on the kitchen cabinets. They were installed by our builder!

does the rug have a chemical odor? I have children and pets so have to be careful what they play/sit on

It’s really import to “de-gas” your rugs before bringing them into your home. That simply means unrolling them outside and letting them air out for a few hours. That allows the chemical smell to dissipate. I honestly do the same thing with furniture before I bring it into our home.
