My Favorite Daily Devotionals

One of my favorite parts of my morning routine is when I get to sit down with a cup of coffee and read my devotional for the day. This usually happens before anyone else in the house is up and going, so it’s really become a sacred time. I love starting my day with God’s truth and I always feel better when I make that a priority. From time to time I will share my daily devotionals in stories over on IG and I always get questions asking, “which book is that?” or “can you link your devotional?”, so I thought it would be fun to just round them all up here in one post! So here are my top favorite daily devotionals I’ve loved over the last several years.

Every Day in His Presence by Charles Stanley: This is a 365 day devotional and it’s one of my all-time favorites. I’ve had it for several years now and it always speaks life and truth and power into my heart, no matter what I have going on that day. Charles Stanley is just the absolute best–he’s one of my favorite Biblical teachers. Each devotional is only a few paragraphs long but each one is based on scripture. Highly recommend!

Awaken: 90 Days with the God who Speaks by Priscilla Shirer: This is a super powerful 90 day devotional that’s full of encouragement and life lessons from Priscilla. Each one is full of Godly insights and words to awaken your soul. And it kinda feels like a mini Bible study because each day has a small section you can write in while you’re answering a prompt on how that day’s lesson applies to your life.

Power Thoughts by Joyce Meyer: This is a 365 day devotional that was inspired by Joyce’s popular book Power Thoughts 12 Strategies to Win the Battle of the Mind. I love this one because each devotional is short but really impactful. Each day is focused on winning the battle in our minds and thought life, and it all centers around speaking truth and life over yourself and your situation, each day is finished with a specific power thought to focus on throughout the day.

Jesus Calling by Sarah Young: This is another one I’ve had for a long time. My mom actually gave it to me right after I had my son years ago. I love it because it’s written as if God is writing directly to you and I found it to be very uplifting and comforting. Each devotional is two to three paragraphs long.

Jesus, Our Perfect Hope by Charles Stanley: This is another amazing 365 day devotional that really focuses on Jesus and His love for each one of us, through all seasons of life. This is a really great one to start every day and great for beginners too! It would make a wonderful gift.

Trusting God Day by Day by Joyce Meyer: This is a 365 day devotional and it covers all of Joyce Meyer’s best teaching points and some of her most important lessons learned. Many of the devotionals are reflective and chat about personal stories and experiences in her life that helped her to slowly trust God more and more. It’s a very well rounded devotional and each day is about a page and a half long.

Embraced by Lysa TerKeurst: This is a 100 day devotional that covers a range of topics such as seeking Godly wisdom, analysis paralysis, feeling worn out, and dealing with grief. Each day is one to three pages long and covers many personal stories from Lysa, all of which point to relying on God every day—the One who fully embraces us just as we are.

Well I hope you enjoyed this post if you’re looking to add a new daily devotional into your routine! And if you have a devotional you love, be sure to share it with me. I’d love to hear it! Sarah here! Nice to meet you. I’m a mama to three, wife to my high school sweetheart and accidental blogger. We recently moved to our little homestead on ten acres and we're loving the small town life in Colorado. I hope this space can inspire you to create a home you love and enjoy the simple moments the most.
